So there I was, minding my own business . . .
. . . getting my weekend chores done, when, while I was vacuuming, it attacked! My body was wracked with shooting pains, and my temperature was steadily going up to a toasty 100.5 degrees. I feel like I've been hit by a Mack truck, and my temp has so far topped out at 101.4 this evening. The body aches have worsened and bettered, worsened and bettered, and I'm alternating between hot and cold. I"ve taken some TheraFlu (lots of sugar to help the taste) and the sum total of what I've ingested today has amounted to 2 eggs, 2 pieces of toast with strawberry jam, 4 pieces of plain bread, some Coke, and ice water. No nausea (although I did embrace the porcelain throne thinking I was about to make an offering), but some dizziness. Needless to say, the bathroom floor is a nice and cool place to lie while the rest of the room whirls dervishly above me, although it is kind of hard on the head unless you have a nice soft towel as a pillow. I hope this is just some kind of weird reaction to dust or something blooming and not the flu.

Thanks, Lyn. My hubby has been looking after me, and I feel better and worse alternately. Right now, I'm nice and cool, but I ache all over, and I've had about 4 hot soaks since yesterday trying to get rid of the aches. I think I've been working up to this all week. I was home from church last Sunday because of headache, and I had more headaches this past week than usual, so I think this was coming. I hate missing today, though, as it is Fifth Sunday (5 Sundays in the month), and, being the good Southern Baptists that we are, we waste no opportunity to eat together. I'm missing Fifth Sunday dinner, but oh, well. I guess I can miss just one.

Thanks, all! I feel some better today, although last night (Sunday) I was so dizzy I could hardly stand up. I have never been that dizzy before in my life. I've got a sub for today and tomorrow. I don't want to be out too much, but neither do I want to go to school before I'm ready and possibly infect everyone else and wear my resistance back down so that I relapse.
