I don't have the newest information, but as far as I know Decal-, and plugin-developers are not sure (yet) whether Decal can be migrated for the new AC client that *everyone* gets on release of AC-TOD (even if not purchasing the Expansion Pack).
Would you continue to play without any Decal functionality ?

I can fight but I am TIRED of buffing. Tired. Tired

All I ever wanted
All I ever needed
Is here, in my arms.

I'm torn between
If buffing got to be too much of a hassle for me I could always build a nice set of level 6 jewelery/clothes instead, and that's good enough for the vast majority of things anyway. Besides, a little vitae penalty is good for oneself occasionally anyway lol.
but opted going with the getting rid of macroers because I think that has been the biggest cause of hard feelings in the game.Yes - gives back the feeling of the good old pre-Decal days
and
Yes - getting rid of macroers etc. is worth the additional efforts for manual buffing etc.

Unfortuneately you didn't have an option that was "YES, I like playing the game and while I'll really miss Decal if it can't be migrated, I'll cope"
The game is the game and you cope or you unsubscribe. I don't remember the pre-Decal days really because I started playing after Decal was created. As far as macroers go, they'll find ways of cheating whether with Decal or without. I don't like it but they are what they are.

Did you play the Preview yet ?Oof wrote:Besides, a little vitae penalty is good for oneself occasionally anyway lol.
And did you experience the new, harder Vitae ?
It does NOT cap at 12.500xp per % anymore...apparently it gets *significantly* harder to get rid of Vitae.
On the other hand they lowered the Item Drop though...
Ok - back to the topic :
For Trekman as Life-Magic-less toon the buffing without Decal is even more tedious. Because it means to switch from Focus Stone to Elysa's Wondrous Orb (H2M4) and back *everytime* he needs to refill Mana, in addition to using Healing Kits between H2Ms...
I tried it a bit on Patch Days when Decal was not upgraded yet.
And I decided that I won't play AC that way.
That was even *before* alternatives like WoW were here...

Trek, I run a critter/item UA with arcane specd. All I use to buff is Ulgrim's casting stein and the Virindi Amulet.
I also run an item-only xbow/Arcane spec toon. She uses an orb with life 6 for S2M II and it works fine.
They also both have cooking. Rations are a very easy to recoup mana. Sure, you wind up dropping a stack of 5-10 here and there but so what? Dried rations, a cooking pot, some Cinnamon are all that's needed to net yourself 25 spiced rations that restore 70 mana a whack. When you're lacking life magic, cooking is a great substitute for only 4 credits.
Buffing isn't my issue. I haven't used a buffing program since they fixed the way armor buffs.
My issue is the way mob corpses stack in dungeons and complicate looting, and keeping track of salvage so I don't mix my work 10 m'hog with the work 6 stuff. Other than that, I won't be phased overmuch.
FYI: no vote from me. My option is explained above.

Trekman,
Yes, I have been playing in the preview some and, yes, the vitae penalty is now something to not to trifled with. I'm guessing it's similar in pain to the way it was in the old days when nearly everyone was all little and 10% or 15% vitae could put a serious damper on your ability to function. No more being careless about getting killed unless you're in a good fellow that can help you work off the vitae.
On the lvl 260 character (that I will likely take an EXTREMELY long (read never) time to play to, the vitae penalty is a little over 2 million xp per percent. Yes folks, that's a little over 2 MILLION xp per percent!
If I remember correctly, on the level 100 character I rolled shortly after the preview pack released, the vitae penalty was about 600K per percent.
Most of the bigger critters I'm seeing are probably in the 100K to 300K range, with some of the hardest ones being around 500K or so. I heard there is a level 140 hollow lugian dungeon (that I accidently got a tie to with my mage!!!) where the lugies are 1M - 1.2M xp each, but so far I've resisted the temptation to go in there and try to hunt. The vitae penalty is just too hard to work off.
Overall, I like it! Once again, one has reason to play cautiously. There are new creatures to look at, new landscape to look at, I'm sure lots of new dungeons to explore, and so forth. The preview pack is bringing back some of the feeling of the old AC for me, at least for now anyway. New mobs to figure out, new aggro patterns for the new mobs, etc. I'm even finding that I'm remembering how to buff manually, and that it isn't so bad after all...
