Now, who's a greedy little monkey?

Post by Oof » Sat Jun 25, 2005 12:47 pm

I thought it made sense to purchase the 20, 40, 60, 80, and 100 level tokens in the ToD preview. The Turbine Emissary disagreed. Here's what he said when I tried to hand in the level 40 token after handing in the level 20.

Turbine Emissary tells you, "Now, who's a greedy little monkey?"

Turbine Emissary tells you, "I will only give you XP one time per character. If you want to experience gameplay at higher levels, create a new character, purchase another Level Token, then come back and see me."

I guess I'll go roll my second new character now in the preview. Oof's Tip of the Day. "Don't try to hand in more than one leveling token per character." ;)

The tokens cost 1 pyreal. You buy them from a Turbine Vendor. As you enter Sanamar, there is a Turbine Vendor almost immediately inside the front gate area.

The steps to leveling are:

1) Buy whichever token you want from the Vendor.
2) Give the token to a Turbine Emissary. If you turn to your left from entering the main gate, the Emissary is a few meters in front of you. He is wearing a bull mask and is easy to spot. You hand him the token and he gives you the xp and skill credits you would have normally earned to reach that level.

You also get two MMD notes so that you have some cash to spend. The Turbine Vendor also sells all of the level 7 scrolls for 2K each and the foci for, I believe, 500p.

If you need to spec something after character creation (now that you have all of those skill credits), the spec/untrain quests work, but with a twist. You do not need any comps to get in, and there is a one minutes timer on picking up additional gem, so you can spec multiple skills until you run out of skill credits.

Have fun exploring!

BTW, I tried landing Futility with creature at 398 on a penguin with NO luck. It probably didn't help any that the penguin was level 185 and I was level 100. :P

sick Oof I didn't know that they made the spec/unspec quest faster. Now I'm def. fixing up my non-uberified-non-extreme-built-for-low-level Archer!
