2) Phade break from Wimp Tinker and swear to Trekman the Axeman

3) Wimp Tinker set key vassal to Trekman the Axeman

4) Trekman the Axeman set key vassal to Phade

5) Post here as each step is completed.

Logging in now for a short while (1:00am here, must once and for all compare that to board time )

I am just a bit confused : so in fact I only switch places with my current Chain Patron. Does that mean that Phade is the bottom of the OH, getting 6 mil. quota from below but having to pass 12 mil. up (last time I heard about that "unthankful position" was that Oof had volunteered ).

If that is true I cannot expect significantly more XP than before due to that very small movement (even if Phade works his b*tt off ), but I have to produce twice the quota. That dampens the enthusiasm about the OH a bit, especially in combination with the promotion policy (which I will reread a few times until I finally understand it)- but I guess I will get over it

Trekman,

That also is my feeling coming in at the bottom of the OH and being stuck there forever except for new toons coming into the OH is not that appealing to me either.

I still think the method I suggested in the other post would be more fair. I really havent heard an opinion about it from the FC managers or others in the OH itself.

Anyone?

I haven't read through all of the comments yet on the promotion policy thread, and want to make sure I read them thouroughly when I do. I hope to have all of the board posts read and commented on tomorrow (Sunday), but I'll have to see what life has in store for me tomorrow first.

Trekman, yes, for right now you basically trade positions with Phade. Phade is the top of the Food Chain, not the bottom of the Order of Hyssop, so his quota is 6 million per week.

I was going to put Oof as the permanent bottom of the Order of Hyssop, but during discussions with the other managers and Panzerfaust, I realized we should have a steady stream of new OH members, and those new people (for now, you) would serve to ensure no one gets stuck with the responsibility of anchroing the OH for very long. If we end up running into a longer period of time with no new insertions, I will probably move Oof into the spot at that time.

Will you see any significant increase in XP from moving up one position? No. The increase will start to become visible in a few days or weeks as we add more people into the OH. As new people join, they are inserted at the bottom of the OH. Inserting them anywhere else would needlessly reset peoples loyalty bonuses. Also, it would not be fair to the people who have already been in the OH and working hard to suddenly have someone inserted above them. Given time, you will see an large increase in the XP from the chain, but you have to be in the OH first, in order to have other characters sworn under you.

I do agree that new members of the OH need to start at the bottom, that only makes sense. It even makes sense that they should spend a certain amount of time there other than when another new member joins and goes below them.

However the thought that The person at the top of the OH should stay at the top forever doesn't seem quite right, especially when you consider that all of us in the food chain have some history in LD. It would seem more fair that the top person takes his turn at the bottom of the OH as well.

Perhaps a policy such as once every 30 days (or some other time frame) the top person moves to the bottom of the OH, however placed above any new members that have not been in the OH for at least 30 days as well. With a policy such as this, assuming we continue to have new blood, the top person still gets to have some vassals below him at the higher quota level, and over time moves to the top again.

This way all members of the OH get an opportunity to have all of the food chain below them at some point.

I look forward to your thoughts on this Oof.

Thank you. :) Marking this as complete. Trekman the Axeman has been added to the Order of Hyssop listing and the quota has been set to the new value.
