Worlds down due to server problem; Bobo quest disabled

Post by Trekman » Fri May 23, 2003 11:44 pm

(from the official AC1 message board: )

We're having trouble with five worlds right now; at this time, only Morningthaw, Harvestgain and Darktide are up and running. The NetOps people know what the problem is and are estimating two hours more of down time until the problem is resolved. Estimated time for the worlds to be back up is about 9:30pm Eastern, 6:30pm Pacific. We'll keep you apprised of news via Lobby messages and, when we can, here in the forums.

Also, our fix for the XP exploit in the Bobo quest isn't working right, so we're going to disable the end of that quest until early next week, to prevent any normally honest player from being tempted, :D. Players should avoid that quest until further notice.

I appreciate both of you being so prompt on this. :D

If only Microsoft was as prompt in fixing it.

They should be ashamed of themselves. A primetime hotfix that was supposed to take 2 hours is now scheduled for 4 hours. Of course, until its actually up and running it could be longer.

I was 7 minutes behind you - probably should have pressed F5 to refresh as your post was not there when I loaded the Public page :)

Nevertheless I grab the opportunity that Meginjarder is unused and update the Operating System of the MJ server right now... 8)

I was only teasing you, my friend ... your post is nicely labeled and mine is more of a rant. All is good with the world ... except the servers aren't up.
