better a 126 mage than a 126 melee.. you can at least dodge a mage.

I've been thinking about Pee-Wee's question. I still believe level doesn't matter too much in PK, skill does. I've seen that over and over at AB. But to sort of solve that dilema, I will be dividing the first rounds into "brackets." A, B, C...bracket, and so forth. but at some point a lower lever character will play a higher level.
Remember, this is to see who the best PK in the CLAN is, not to see who the best lvl 50 PK, lvl 70 PK, lvl 126 PK, and so forth.
The fact of the matter is, if a lvl 70 vulns you with 7's, and then hits you with a lvl 7 war spell, it's still going to hurt, you still have to dodge it, which takes skill.

Good point. Going aginst people like Khaz and Kazasm, who have insane Magic D. But once again, this is to see who's the best in the Clan. Who knows, we may have some hidden talent out there that can give Khaz a run for his money.

Ummm... here's my rant for the day...
I could have all the melee skill in the world, but I'm never going to touch a mage like they will me. Thats all I'm tryin to say.
PK is meant for Mages... Sorry, there is nothing you could say or show me that will make me think otherwise.
Now, I'm not talking about the vulns and imps, that's not what I have an issue with, it's the stunning effect these have when it comes to war spells. I can vuln and imp as well, but it does not effect my attacks one bit as much as it does for a War mage.
Sassy, Tynerion, and I went red on Shadowclaim and tested things out. With vulns, imps, and item spells, Sassy and I could fight all day and never kill each other, however... tynerion can hit us with ONE war spell and we are done. Oh, there was one time when I resisted him twice, but that makes no difference when the next time he hits me it's for 140 points and I'm hitting him, full swing for 11 points a Crit. This just does not compute when you concider Sassy, being a high lev bow, might have hit him for a RARE 25 points max with a crit hit.
This just does not add up when you take resistance and attributes into account. If this were not the case, why do people call me a tank when it comes to rushing in on monsters? If I can run up to a group of monsters, that a mage cannot, how is it that same mage can rip me to shreads in seconds when I can't hit them for squat?
Everyone talks about Magic Def, why is it Melee Def is not equated the same way? If the reason I am getting nailed is because my Magic Def is 234 base, then why is it mages with an even lower Melee Def don't get nailed by me?
I've got a 321 Melee Def, and 321 Staff. I can walk up to a Plat Golem, be vulned with VII's, and hit left and right, and I'm still going to take that golem down. Why isn't this more common when I fight a mage PK?
Do you want to know what it is like for me to go PK? Think of taking on Gaerlan alone. That is EXACTLY what it is like for me. I don't have a chance, 2 swipes from Gaerlan and I'm dead, two hits from a war mage and I'm dead.
I know, I'm going to have every mage in the clan trying to tell me otherwise, but, you wil just not understand until I can walk up to you and smack you for 140 points with one hit of my staff. And, as we all know, that will never happen.

Pee wee... with the aegis shield and major wards... I think that melee vs mage 1 vs 1 is somewhat fair now. I can minimize war hits to 80-110... and i have 300 health (started with 10 endur), which allows me to take 2-3 wars and live. plentiful healing kits and high healing skill lets me heal to full in one swift heal, while a mage may have to heal 2-3 times to get to full. Additionally, swinging on full with the phantom UA i can crit for 125, which is VERY good. As it stands now, I think pk is more for groups than anything else... Individuals are getting left out of the scene. Next month's jump changes will make this even more pronounced.

Can I be so bold as to show you an old PK event I ran for LD a long time ago. I spent a great deal of time and effort on it and the day was great fun.
I'm not trying to steal your glory or anything just hoping that you can use it somehow.
