Discussion: Mage tool bar setup.
I have started playing a mage a little more (at least an hour or 2 a night).
I have been adjusting the spells all over the tool bars.
I still have yet to find the best layout for me.
I known that this would be all opinion based, but I am looking for help from some of the expert mage players on their toolbar configurations.

I once asked my patron Ishamael this question once. And his answer was.. "you don't want to know!"..
Hehe, I guess so I would blame him when I got confused and got wiped out because I couldn't find my Stam to Health spell fast enough.
So even though I think there is no "right" or "wrong" way to lay out your spell tabs, I'll give you an idea of what I have set up. In the end though, it is what makes you most comfortable.
Tynerions Tab setup:
Tab 1 - This is my fighting tab. All vulns/imp/fester/yields/drain and war spells are on this tab. And there's a bunch of them so it is my largest tab. Because of this, I have limited it mostly to war arcs except in a few cases. If I put all my war spells including those special ring and column spell on here, it would become extremely unwieldy and I would be scrolling alot.
Also, I put my most used vuln/war combos at the beginning of this tab. Fire/Bludge are my favorites so they are always in sight. I also stick drain at the beginning because when I only have 10 health left, it's nice to have it right in front of me.
Tab 2 - I put my healing/mana/stam/heath transfer spells here. When I am fighting Tab 1 and 2 get most of the action, and I switch between them alot. Because of this, on the end, I drop a few of the war-ring spells like cassius and the bludge one in case I am surrounded by tuskers or olthoi which I usually am.
Tab 3 - I put all of my "Other" Buff spells here. If someone at the mansion asks for fletching/focus/coord, I go to this tab. It's better than setting up a billion NB routines.
Tab 4 - This is where all my "Self" buff spells reside. Though I rarely use this tab since NB contains most of what I typically need, it doesn't have everything like LP and Dagger mastery for the sake of keeping my buff times short. So when I need it, this is where I go.
Tab 5 - This is my portal tab. All of my tie spells, Primary/secondary portal spells, individual portal spells like Aerlinthe and Alpha Lassal go here.
Tab 6 - This is where I put all of my Item/Weapon bane spells. Again, NB does most of the work in this area, but I don't always bane elementals to keep the buff routine shorter. And since someone often needs thier weapon buffed, I can hit the 4 spells for that quickly.
Tab 7 - This last one is kind of mix and match tab. Firstly, I have the War specialty Ring and Wall spells there that are not used alot and then I put those that would typically be used for PK like ineptitudes and such.
So there you have it. I am pretty sure that everyone that posts will have a different setup and all are good. This works for me because I am used to it. And any setup you are used to, is always a good setup.

Let me lay this little tool of wisdom on you Ranger. This is good for both PK and PVM. Stam to Health 1 or 2. Nothing better for emergencies. Saved my butt many a time. And gives you that little bit of time to replenish yourself rinse and kill the rest of the goobs beating on you.
