Ok, here's goes. I have the list of people who have stated they would like to be placed in the new chain section. I have the looong list of potential names for the new chain section. I have questions from earlier in this discussion thread that I haven't answered yet. So here's the plan of action:
I will post a poll with the new names shortly. If there isn't a decisive winner (decisive will most like be judged by me lol), I will post a shorter list of names and we'll will have a round 2 elimination. There were a lot of names you all suggested.
I will post orders soon to begin the restructuring of the Food Chain in order to clear people for swearing into the new section. The deadline for stating you would like to move in this first phase has passed; however, a few questions were posted in the discussion thread that I failed to answer before the deadline. In all fairness, I need to answer those folk's question so they can decide what they want to do. I don't recall right now who all that was, but will see that as I re-read the discussion thread. SO, there may be a couple of names added to go into the new section, don't know yet. It shouldn't slow things down much, since I can be working on the remainder of the orders in the mean time.
I start a new reply with the questions and answers listed; I just wanted people to know I was working on things now, while I work on things.

I WILL TRY TO RECAP ALL OF THE QUESTIONS THAT HAVE BEEN ASKED AND PROVIDE BRIEF VERSIONS OF THE ANSWERS IN THIS ONE REPLY FOR EASY READING. IF YOU WANT TO SEE THE FULL ANSWERS, SCAN BACK IN THIS DISCUSSION THREAD.
--------------------------------------------------
Steelhead asked:
Is the quota going to be comiled over a 21-day period like the FC, or are we going to be more strict about weekly passup?
Oof: I think this may have been answered in the original thread, but I'll answer here again, because it's a good opportunity to point something out. Yes, the quota will be calculated on a 21 day period. The quota is 100% passup with a 12 million XP per week cap. If we go to a strictly one week quota, it's too likely to negatively impact players who only get to play on the weekend.
Here's the thing I wanted to point out. For the most part, the rules for the new section will be the same rules as for the Food Chain, so, if you have a question, you can look at the Food Chain rules and probably already know the answer. But ask anyway, reminders are always good.

Dangerous Lady asked:
1) How many characters will be allowed in the new section?
Dave Mustaine: 1) The limit should be 1 per player with case-by-case exceptions.
2) What happens if you fail to make quota?
Dave Mustaine: 2) If they are booted, they should re-enter at their true level.
Oof: I want to add to this a bit: In the case of a character failing quota, they are not placed into Food Chain right away. The Official Food Chain Policy thread will list the particulars, but what happens is the character keeps their chain patron, but will lose their chain vassal (sworn around). Then XP is tracked for 10 days. If they make quota, they are reinserted into the chain. If they don't make quota, they can be moved to one of the other chains, depending on what they quota production was. Moving someone into the Food Chain for 10 days just disrupts two sets of characters.

Jack Able asked:
1) Will there be a new forum?
Oof: 1) Probably not. Most things talked about will affect both the Food Chain and the new section. If it looks like a new forum is needed later, that is easy to add.
2) Will this chain have a new chain page?
Phade: 2) Yes, but will use the same URL for updating.
3) Will there be new chain managers?
Phade: 3) Hmm. good question
Oof: 3a) Hmm. good answer Phade.
We'll have to see how things go. Like the forum, if managers need to be added, that should be easy to do.
4) Why would anyone lvl 126+ stay in the Food Chain?
Phade: 4) Different folks, different play styles, different life circumstances. We are trying to make sure there is a spot for every play-style.
5) Will the food chain have removal orders for all the people moving to the new chain?
Oof: 5) Yes.
6) How will this be planned out?
Oof: 6) See the removal post after it is up (soon).
7) Will there be a "dead line" to not lose your spot in the new chain?
Oof: 7) No. The chain will continue to be open for LD Chain members who are 126+ and have proven they can meet a 12 million per week quota.
8 ) If you miss the dead line will you get put on the bottom?
Oof: 8 ) N/A. Yes, new entrants will be placed at the bottom of the new chain section.
9) How does outleveling work?
Oof: 9) Outleveling will be based on an adjusted level and based on XP, not level numbers. We will follow the same guidelines as for a 126+ person who joins the Food Chain. Essentially, everyone will be treated like a 126 when they hit the bottom of the new chain (we need to get the name figured out so I can quit typing "the new section").
Whew!
Good questions Jack.

Kazsam asked:
1) What happens if you try out the new chain and want back into the Food Chain?
Oof: 1) You are welcome to go back into the Food Chain, with open arms.
2) How soon can you re-enter?
Oof: 2) Anytime you decide the Food Chain is where you would rather be. We realize that no one is REALLY going to know how they will like the new chain section until they've tried it. The only thing I can think of where (speaking for myself) I would get a little testy is if someone says, "move me up, no down, no up, no down, ...", but I don't think that will happen anyway.
3) Where would you be placed?
Oof: 3) Since everyone in the new chain section will be LD members already and will have moved out of one of the existing chain sections to join the new one, anyone who "returns home" will be reinserted at their true level.
--------------------------------------------------
I think that put all of the questions and answers in this thread about the new section into one post. Looking at the people who asked questions vs. current levels vs. whether they posted to join, I belive only two people are affected: Jack Able and Kazsam. Jack was posted questions for future reference as he isn't 126 just yet. Kazsam, I apologize for being a slacker and not answering your question in a timely manner.
Kazsam, just let me know whether you would like to move to the new section. You were waiting on an answer to your question, and you deserve that answer before you make your decision. Now you have the answer.
Let me know what you would like to do and I'll work that into the restructuring orders. I will start on the writing the move orders and will probably post them all at once later tonight.
