FAQ for LD Chain AC Stats

Post by Flanker » Mon Jan 20, 2003 12:41 pm

Below are a couple of frequently asked questions. If there is something you wonder that is not listed here, just send me a PM.

Decal: http://acheaven.buwahaha.com/
ACStats Download: http://www.acstats.com/decal/AcStats3600.msi
Last Dynasty ACStats File: http://lastdynasty.net/ldstats/lastdynastystats.reg (Download (right click and Save) and run, click yes to make changes, then you're done)

Q0. Where is the chain listing?
The "Master List" or Clan listing, is located:
http://lastdynasty.net/stats/

The Food Chain Listing, which is used to monitor quota and other things, is located:
http://www.lastdynasty.net/stats/shortr ... d&vtime=21

Q1. My ACStats is not working. Help!
Make sure you have the latest version of decal, acstats and internet explorer. Links are located above. You also need to download the chain registry file. Everything can be found linked from here. Also remember to set keyvassal, and update it if you change chainvassal.

Q2. My patron/vassal is not uploading. Does it affect my data?
No, the only data used for your quota calculation is what you upload.

Q3. I uploaded just after hunting, but the amount of xp "added" went down. How is that possible?
Only the last three weeks of data is used. Some of your earlier intense hunting might have been older, which can result in the "added" xp being lower today than it was yesterday.

Q4. What does the period column mean?
The period column tells how much of the last three weeks are accounted for by ACStats. The closer to 21 days, the better. If you have a low period value, then it means you need to upload more often.

Q5. Quota, how is that calculated?
The quota is calculated as 100% passup over the period (see Q4). There is a cap at 6M per 7 days. The time resolution for the calculations are seconds, so even if the period says 7 days the quota cap might be slightly over or under 6M, this is because the period displayed have been rounded off to the closest day.

Q6. How is added xp calculated? How can it be negative?!
You automatically pass up 93.75% of the xp you receive from your vassal when you have reached the cap. The added xp is how much you pass up to your patron, minus what you automatically pass up. Basically how much you yourself add to the chain, this is also what is compared to the quota to decide if the period was pass or fail. If you are below 93.75% automatic passuprate then the added xp can be negative. Remember to buff leadership/loyalty and have 12 directs if you do not have leadership trained.

Q7. I received more xp than the "from chain" column says...
You should receive 125% of what the from chain column says, this is because all calculations are done in raw xp. The actual xp received is modified by your leadership bonus, which caps at 125%.

Q8. What is rate, and why are people below 100% still passed?
Rate is how big a percentage of what you receive that you pass on up. Because of the quota cap it is possible to have below 100% passup and still be passed, this can happen when you receive alot of vassal xp.

Q9. I uploaded but my values did not change!!
Check the upload date - if that did not change then check Q1, you are not uploading to the chain database for some reason. If the date did change then there are a couple of other possible reasons. You might have just changed keyvassal, or your patron/vassal xp fields might have just overflowed. This will result in the most recent data interval to become unusable, and any xp hunted during that time is lost. Therefor it is important to upload often.

Q10. Uhu... is there anyway I can protect myself against a reset, so I dont loose my hunting?
Yes, remember to upload before and after you change keyvassal. Also keep an eye on the xp to patron and xp from vassal fields in the allegiance window, when they are approaching 4.2 billion it is time to be careful because once it gets to 4294967296 it resets back to 0 (overflows).

Q11. I am not showing up on the chain listing!
Someway the chain script needs to know you are to be listed. There are two ways, first there is a "must be listed" list that the admins can add or remove people on. Anyone listed on the food chain's "must be listed" list will appear (provided they are not also listed on another chain's "must be listed" list, in which case they appear on neither). Secondly, all people directly connected (through a chain of patrons or keyvassals) to a character on the "must be listed" list will appear.

Q12. The chain listing shows me below my old patron!
Your old patron need to change his or her keyvassal and reupload. If they are no longer active then their patron need to change the keyvassal to remove them from the listing, and the chain admins need to make sure that the non-active person is not on the "must be listed" list.

Q13. What is that thick black line?
The thick black line means that the page were unable to place the correct person there. This might be because the vassal is listed elsewhere higher up in the chain (no character can appear twice, this is to prevent infinite loops), in which case Q12 explains how to deal with it. But it can also be because the vassal has never uploaded to the database, see Q1.

Q14. When I am IG how does AC Stats update to the server? Do I need to click something?
No you do not. Ac Stats updates to the server each time you log providing you have decal running.

If none of these things help you, make a post on the new Decal/plugins board:

Got a question for ya........

Post by Thorgrim » Fri Mar 07, 2003 3:38 am

OK. Just got xp installed, updated, downloaded, installed, logged on, reconfigured, BLAH BLAH BLAH.

Now that I'm totally discabobulated......(spell check?) I have a few AC stats problems/questions to ask you guys.

In the URL on my acstats dialogue/upload box, the address shows http://www.acstats.com and not lastdynasty.org/net. Is this a problem? Iknow over the past week, I've uploaded at least twice, if not 3 times, and none of the material or information uploaded on the "foodchain" list. But.....the information has gone through on ACSTATS>COM. SO. which leads me to believe that my acstats is not properly configured (And I have followed "trekman's guide to sure bliss" located in our links section at the top of the main page.

SO please help me out, give me some links....and explain it real slow..so Even the NUMER ONE AXE SKILL ON THE SERVER (for now "trekman") can understand it. PLEASE.

You guys know me as an AVID updater, and uploader. Just getting ready and raring to go and send a few Tuskers to the great Banana tree in the sky. (help is on its way)

You forgot to list how many times people are required to upload each week!
