Silifi of Crimson Stars

Is that axe actually worth getting any more? I made new axe guy, and thinking of running that quest to get it.

Seems to have pretty good damage and mods with the Plate spine, any opinions would be helpful

The SoCS is one of the oldest multi-part quest items in the game. It looks impressive and IMO is the status symbol for any axer. No real axer is complete without it

A few patches ago they updated it. It had been once-per-lifetime, which made it really precious, but the stats were antique. Now it is repeatable and the new stats are pretty good.

So yes - you definitely should get it.

But frankly in high levels you probably won't use it. At least I did never really use it since I repeated the quest when they updated the SoCS. Your tinkered and imbued loot weapons will outdamage any quest weapon (besides Perfect Shimmering Isparian on dual elementals maybe).
Sad, but fact....

The higher your level the less you hunt Lugians, and I don't have another monster in mind now that "wants" Electrical attacks.
The few Lugians I hunt in VoD and in the various Mines for ore die faster with my AR Budge Hammer than with any (non-AR) Lightning weapon.

If you do not use the SoCS anymore you can apply Ivory to it and hook it in your house/apartment

I think you can only ivory and hook the old SoCS, I tried on the new one but it did not work. But they might have changed it, haven't tried it again since I got it.

You can't hook any special item that can still have crafting done to it I think... or is it that you can't apply ivory if not all crafting finished?

Free gem slots would fit into that category.
