Besides a thing like this were u get to do 42 days worth or work in one week does nothing but promote people who don't mind Ucming to do so to get promoted and that is BS. Besides I have moved up atleast 3 spots from people naturaly leaving the chain in the last 42 days, so what would be the point in gettin another just cause a 42 day time frame has came up. Movin up is just not worth breaking up the bonus for 1 spot every 42 days to me
Qaz is my vassal and does not UCM. I talk to him all the time when we're both on and he's always replied.

I don't UCM either, and there's only just the 2 of us that asked for promotion.

ya shrug, i just had to throw in my 2 cents. chains don't work without pushers.. if all of our pushers are at the very top then... shrug. GJ on your promotion, you've earned it.

edit - qaz definately doesn't ucm, he's hardcore.

Promotion time already?

Post by acaddict » Sun Aug 24, 2003 3:46 am

OK,OK, I wish to be promoted! Wasn't gonna do this this time, but a little birdie told me my patron was gonna go to the casual chain. I just as well start building up that loyalty bonus now!

Kripe lets just make everyone feel like crap cause they want to be promoted here.......

If everyone wants to bitch on the promotion post about how evil being promoted is.......lets just do away with the promotions then hey???

I had worked my butt off this last period......but yea i hate to ruin the bonus....my patron moved up last time...and i stayed on line 24/7 to rebuild it.....

I also hate to loose my vassel because id had him as a vassel before and really like him.....

So to make all the whiners happy.......who dont believe we who work hard deserve a promotion......i recind my intentions

Heaven forbid *I* want to be the evil one and be blamed for all that lost loyalty xp...

Uhm - apparently I do not really understand the promotion policy. Could someone please check my current situation (113% for me, less for the surrounding people) and explain to me where I would be promoted to as of now ?

I don't care about my own Loyalty bonus - I can completely rebuild it within ~11 days. But before I kill my vassal's bonus I want to be more or less convinced that the move is worth the trouble (being still on a pretty low position in OH).

If,

You post on this thread you want to move.
By next saturday you are above 110% and 5% higher than your patron.

Then you move. At least, thats what it sez.

do it

Post by acaddict » Mon Aug 25, 2003 6:38 am

Do it urrasa!!! You are not evil for doing it, just deserving! Pay no attention to that BS, they just can't find an hour or 2 out of the week to work on xp and they are envious.

I see too many people bitchin' about this promotion criteria. If you don't want someone passing you..........make a little xp! OMG, give me a break! I was gone for almost 3 weeks and still kept very close to 130%. I hope we have heard enough of that crap about promotions being gay! Promotions should be encouraged!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!! A promotion makes them an asheron's call stud or studette!

A lot of my xp goes directly to a bot pusher! I see (at vod) no one else doing the same. If i wasn't trying to help the chain out and add a little xp to the bottom, i would be at +150% xp.

Face it, yu are in a chain!!

Please come back under me Urrasa, yu were a great vassal.

I would do it, but what guarantee will I have that I will sit out of the chain for no reason? I mean, last time I was out of the chain for 3 days and a week later my patron now vassal left the chain.

Maybe we should rethink the basis of the promotion policy. Not to put it down, but it's just an important issue I think we should look at as a chain.

nope

Post by acaddict » Tue Aug 26, 2003 6:56 am

You will not be out of the chain at all if yu do the move correctly!
Never break from your patron or vassal until the appropriate move is complete. I did this once and i had 6000 people asking me if i had a mansion LOL!!!!!!

Moving into OH is different, there is usually more than one being moved!

Just letting you know, that when I mean out of the chain I mean no vassal. The move was done correctly, but sometimes people had a hard time logging on... or deleting important pms. *glares at oof* :)

I'm still red with embarassment Downy. For those that forgot, I was PM'ed the logon info for Downy's new chain vassal, who was on vacation. I accidently deleted said PM, and then Downy was stuck for a while with no chain vassal.

Moral of the story: Don't PM Oof anything that's important.

Ok, I'm much more careful now with PMs (I think).

Regarding promotions, there is nothing wrong with asking to be promoted. There are lots of reasons for seeking promotion, and lots of equally good reasons for not seeking promotion. Take a hard look at your situation within the OH, at the performance of your current chain vassal and at the performance of your current chain patron (who might become your current chain vassal), and then decide what you want to do. Sometimes being promoted will make sense; sometimes it won't. If you have a great chain vassal under you and your patron is a marginal performer, you will probably hurt your XP a lot if you take a promotion. Depending on the circumstances, you may help your situation a lot.

Either way, if you qualify for a promotion and want to be promoted, post for it anytime you're eligible, and more power to you. :)

I don't think it was hard to delete the PM - one simple click, and then another when being asked "Do you really want to delete"....
