VoD Fellows (organization thread)

Post by Heatmiser » Wed May 21, 2003 11:05 pm

AC, Mith, Youth, Thunderblade, (Me) or anyone else who frequents VoD, just a reminder:

If you have room, add Oof and Borg to your friends list. If you're going out there to hunt, give him a tell if he's on. He's at the dead bottom and xp to him will pulse through the chain. We've done this once so far and he lvl'd twice in one trip. I'd like to see you guys organize something like this on a regular basis. Maybe you can set up a VoD fellow tonight? Say around 8ish?

Im not going to be able to play tonight, but we need to get a little more organized with some regular fellows out there. I see some of you guys out there all the time, so I know we can do it. Try to get one going tonight with a lower. (Doesn't have to be Borg, can be anyone over 50.) Heck, hit the mansion before you go and drag a lower out there. :)

We need to do this regularly on weekends too. My hubbys work schedule doesn permit him to play much during the week and he would like to go to VoD on weekends for some mad xp hes in CC so it would help them out too.

Ill be on later tonite maybe we can get something going, ill be there.

Oof

I actually was the one to suggest this to Oof. With all the work he does on the boards, i wanted to help him with Borg. I'm thinking every Friday night would be as good as any to hunt for a couple of hours at VOD.

I don't mind having a couple of lower levels in fellow, but i also need to make xp. To me, under level 90 is lower level. My plan was to get Borg maximum xp in the shortest time possible and that won't happen with a 6 million/hour fellow.

This doesn't mean I'm only out there one night per week and not willing to help a monarchy fellow. I just wanted to focus on Borg a little and push the bottom of the chain a little! :)

I do not want to sound pushy - but the more people actually use Meginjarder the better such events can be organized - through

- live display of online toons' current locations
- offline "ACMail"
- Quest/Event Calendar built directly in the plugin with localized time display
- possibility to check Quest/Event Calendar from outside the game (= web-page), again with localized time display

Sorry - couldn't resist. I just hurts me to see how inactive my server is that I devoted to MJ and after all the work I had to customize it for LD.

Yeah, MJ is great. Learn it and use it. (I don't play with Decal usually, so I must confess, I don't run it, but everyone else should!)

Well I agree we really do need organise VoD fellows better.

Maybe the way to go is to have 1 or 2 contact per time zone, so that if you want to go to VoD you know who to talk to. (Kinda like quest leaders)
I almost exclusively hunt there so I can help during the evenings GMT time (Euro).

Oh and Youth is gotta be one of the best support mages I have ever met in this game :D

Get in our IRC channel, that's the important thing. If I'm out there I'll spam every 15 min or so telling peeps to come. Also, you can always ask if anyone is out there when you're in the channel.

You can grab Meginjarder from my signature. It's a link to somewhere on our boards, but I'm too lazy to look up right now where it is, so you'll have to click on my sig.

Anything we can use to talk with each other is great. Meginjarder does have a lot of nice features though. It gets my vote for the most preferred communications tool. :)

I just don't like the fact that you can see me being online and where I am.. makes me edgy?

besides then you'd know where my favorite/secret spots are ;)
