How did I go from "passed" to "failed" without ever having logged in???

Probably either because a day of big hunting of yours became older than 21 days and was no longer counted toward your quota, or your vassal posted some new XP that was counted against your required quota. The most likely thing, I think, is that a big day of your hunting aged out and was no longer contributing toward your passed status.

And I don't have to log in for that to change? It always required a login in the past.

It does not require a log in for the data to change. If a datapoint becomes older than 21 days it is no longer used.

Think about it, a person that does not upload for a long time will go from "Passed" to "Old data" without having to upload again.

This makes my head hurt.

I think I'm gonna take a break from the chain.

definitely panda breath.

Naka, I think a person's stats do not fully update until their patron does too.

I notice that I have to earn like 3X as much as I should, in order to make my quote tick over to 'passed' and then, a couple of days later, I notice my credit column shoots way up (without me having logged in).

Is that the way it works, I'm curious?

The numbers displayed only have to do with your uploads.

Your eradic numbers are because either or both of your hunting and uploading is sporadic. There are periods where there is no xp hunted recorded for you, then there are other periods where you hunt hard. Depending on which ones of the hutning periods are within the 21 day cycle your numbers vary ... alot.

Hrm.

I'll keep an eye on it, but I still suspect after compa logs in next time my stats will change, and it will show me further ahead than I am now (@3M spare)
