ATTN CHAIN MANAGERS: XP is disappearing

Post by Coji » Mon Mar 10, 2003 6:55 am

My earned xp has gone down drastically in the last 24 hours. I cannot explain my frustration, as i have gone through a lot to regain quota after my computers virus and loss of hard drive. I would like to know what there is that i am doing incorrect to cause such an immpossible drop in added xp. If my xp jumps back to normal, i may just be retarded, and ignore this topic but if not, can someone explain how a chain works. Note that i have 12 direct vassals, leader and loyalty buffed over 250 more than 95% of the time i am on and all of the time i am logged off. Please help. Sorry for being such a problem.

I also had a dramatic decrease in my xp. I can't explain it. I spent all day yesterday hunting on the Caul. It was not the greatest xp I've made per hour, however, it was not bad either and my xp % dropped dramatically and now I'm barely meeting quota. What is even stranger for me to comprehend, my husband Qa'zienn's xp% increased while mine dropped. We were hunting together the entire day in a fellow sharing xp. :?:

At this rate I'm soon going to be failing and that is what bother's me. I play almost every night for a few hours and pretty much the whole day on Sat and Sun each week. It doesn't look like this is going to be good enough anymore....why?

Maybe I'm just imagining this and it's really nothing.....but I do watch my ACstats daily so I see the decrease. I will also start writing down and manually keeping track. I just find it weird that I stopped hunting on AL now I'm barely meeting quota....however...If I go back there...it's a good 99.9% chance I'll be stuck in the world.

I'm an AC addict...do I want help for my addiction?...NO!!!

I'll try to explain briefly what is probably happening.

Use this as a reference:

http://ac.warcry.com/index.php3?library ... AndLoyalty

The max you can pass up is 93.75% of what is passed to you. That's why we call it 100% pass through. You must add the extra 6.25% to make 100% pass through.

So, if you get 100,000,000, you will pass up 93,750,000 as long as you have leader buffed to 163 or have 12 vassals and leader buffed to the upper 80's (doing this from memory, so the numbers may be a tad off).
This is done without a single XP being generated by you.

Now, you passed up 93,750,000 to your patron. Your patron will pass 87,890,625 up.

12 million XP has been lost without doing a thing in two steps.

Now, this is if you are passing 93.75%

Without typing for the next six hours, let's say that everyone's passup is decreased by 10%.

100,000,000 is passed up to you.

Now, instead of 93.75%, you are passing up 83.75%, which is 83,750,000.

Now your patron is at 83.75% too, which means you pass 78,515,625.

Now, 21,500,000 has disappeared in two steps.

Now, this is starting with 100,000,000. There are several people that have been stuck in the world for days, some close to if not at a week. This means they are unable to buff or earn XP themselves, so you can see how rapidly XP can disappear.

Here's a short table using 83.75% all the way down.

100000000 <----------- Start at 100 mill
83750000
70140625
58742773
49197072 <---------- Cut in half at 4 steps
41202547
34507133
28899723
24203518 <---------- 75% loss in 8 steps
20270446
16976498
14217817
11907421
9972465 <--------- 90% loss in 13 steps

_______________________________________________

As you can see, the XP drain can be substantial. Depending on each person's numbers, there could be a much higher loss.

We're just using 83.75% pass up as an example there.

This is happening all over the server.

Chin up! It can only get better :)

Misunderstood

Post by Coji » Mon Mar 10, 2003 8:10 pm

What i meant, and i think Dangerous Lady (and i know fiction also) mean is that the xp we are recieving from the chain is not the problem. My problem is that the added xp i put into the chain (i.e. my quota and added xp versus my required xp ratio) is dropping. I had up to 24 million out of 11 and am now at 9 to 13. Can somebody explain to me what i am supposed to do to fix this problem or if not, what is my requirded raw xp needed per week to keep it above the minimum. Thanks for any help given.

Assuming that you are passing up a base 93.75% of what the chain is passing up to you,

and

Assuming a loyalty of 200 (22.7 % pass-up)

You need to personally hunt for 26,100,000 xp per week to make the 6 mil xp quota.

However, you can be deceived by this number. This is the amount YOU must personally earn...this does not include what the chain passes up. You may be out hunting in DV, and THINK you are earning 10 mil/hour. What is really happening (for example) is that the chain is PASSING up to you at the rate of 3 mil/hour, so you are are only personally adding 7 mil/hour.

There is no real easy way to figure out how much the chain is passing up versus how much you are personally earning at any given time. If you use a plug-in such as El Tank or Keba's Toolkit, then you stand for a few minutes before you start hunting and estimate the amount the chain is passing up to you per hour at that time. Then, when you hunt, subtract that baseline from your overall hourly totals. Or, I believe the Meginjarder plugin keeps track of the xp you personally earn in realtime, so that could be real helpful, but I have yet to try it.
