Murphy is after the Food Chain

Post by Panzerfaust » Sun Mar 09, 2003 1:45 pm

First, everyone breathe in the nose.......

and

out the mouth...... Good Danielsan.

Murphy's Law is in the works the last couple of weeks.

We had two very ugly chain breaks.

Our Acstats system starting goofing up.

AL is keeping people in world.

The Food Chain has been around a very long time. The one thing that puts it ahead of any others is "Resolve".

We know there are eventually going to be problems. We had not planned on the three to happen so close to eachother. Perhaps this is a test of that resolve.

You guys are awesome! Lesser chains would have dissolved by now.

90% of life is attitude. You guys have it made.

Now the fixes we have control over:

If you are having problems with Acstats:

Uninstall Acstats and delete the acstats folder from your drive.
Then re-install acstats and the old reg file and the new reg.

We need to use both right now, until we're sure the new system is 100% operational. Ranger Du'Moss has done a terrific job with this in short order. You should pat him on the back (and give a small or two :D ) when you see him. He has no vested interest in the chains and stepped up for you. A true LDer.

Last, what I recommend, is to install MeginJarder.

What?!? Install two plugins for the chain?!?

If I thought installing 25 plugins for the chain would help, I'd recommend it. :D

But, MJ is a very powerful tool. It doesn't slow your system down, because it's not grabbing information when you want it to. I personally think everyone in the clan should be running this. For you chainers, there is a Real Time Quota tab that you can check. It's not completely accurate due to our quota, but it will let you know where you stand. This is especially useful for times like now when people are having problems getting the info from the stats page.

It also let's you know who is online. As you kow, half of the battle in the chains is finding people. Many of us have our friends list packed. MJ will show you who is online for insertion, removals or movements.

It connects you to our IRC channel. So, you will have centralized In Game communication with LDers all over Dereth.

It logs your tells, so when you are in the heat of battle, you can miss a few tells. When you're finished, you can scroll thru the messages and answer them.

It does much more, but it really is a nice tool. I have been using it for a long time now in Trekman was nice enough to handle the server side (you should give him smalls too :D ).

In fact, I was in a fellow and we got separated and without having to ask, I click on an icon in MJ and it told me the coords of one of the fellow, so I could meet them. Pretty Slick.

Again, thanks for you cooperation and patience. Lesser people would have bailed. You guys are troopers.

Please keep this bumped. I didn't want to sticky or announcement it as they seem to get overlooked.

Nice post and very positive...:)

Thanks Panz!

also...just wanted to point out that the other existing chians have a much higher quota than we have and are struggling even more than us because NO ONE is meeting quota with characters stuck in the world...or the few that aren't stuck is making the rest look really bad and there doesn't appear to be any compromising if you fail 3 days in a row in those chains and do not meet your 100%+ pass-up.

Our chain managers are more than FAIR...in fact they are EXTREMELY fair.....many many failed/or were failing long before the stuck in the world situations or the chain breaks....in fact they have more patience and tolerance than me...hehehee...and many of you were given new opportunities to resolve the failing stats in our chain....since joining this chain I've repeatedly seen players desperately try to meet the quota only after the threat of removal is upon them.....not everyone but many of you...now that's a hard cold fact!!!...and sorry if I offend anyone for stating it.

I say let's give all our chain managers a group hug for not only always fitting us in whenever possibly...but for putting up with us when we don't do as they ask or follow their instructions.

We have an awesome group...in fact....I see us as more than just xp whores..we are an allegiance..I'm hoping the rest of you feel the same way....:)

PS...this game is not only about xp's....let's not all lose sight of why we play....fro most of us it's for FUN, RELAXATION, ENTERTAINMENT, FRIENDSHIPS, etc....the xp is just a little bonus...:)

furthermore...if you can't meet a 6 million cap pass-up here in LD...you sure as heck will not meet 100% or higher somewhere else.
