REMOVAL ORDERS

Post by Oof » Thu Oct 23, 2003 4:38 pm

Removal orders will be posted Friday night for anyone who is at least 3.5 million XP behind quota. I was going to post orders a few days ago but the Solcalin had connectivity problems for a couple of days (during which time people couldn't reliably connect but quota continued to accrue).

I have posted a couple of different times lately about the upcoming removal orders. Friday night is the night. Check your quota and upload.

Once removal orders have been posted for a character, the orders will be completed, even if the character corrects the quota debt before the removal is finished. People who have been removed from the OH or the FC are welcome to rejoin the chain in accordance with the different chain's policy. I hope that no one will be behind quota by 3.5 million Friday night when I sit down to write the orders (probably in the later part of the PM).

If you are behind, look for a VoD fellowship or something to get in. Let people know you are trying to make up quota XP to avoid being removed, they will probably go farther than normal to help you. If you are in quota compliance, but are close to failing, get in a fellowship and try to build a buffer so you won't be in danger of failing in the future. It's time for me to follow my own advice and try to build Oof's buffer higher than what it currently is. If I fall behind, I'll boot myself just as fast as I will anyone else. ;)

The above post isn't meant to be mean; it's simply time we started consistently following our own chain policies. We have been way too lax in the past about quota failure issues. We need to be firm but fair, as the saying goes. As always, if you are having problems that prevent you temporarily from hunting let us know and we'll work with you.

Thanks to all of the chain members. :)

Removal orders are going up in a little while. If you haven't updated ACStats and you're showing Failed, you need to go update. If you can't update, you need to post here saying that you can't. Once removal orders have been posted they are to be carried out, regardless.

Currently, the only "Failed" person I know of who will not have removal orders posted is Oneman, who has told us he is working on recovering his computer from a virus.

Again, the intent isn't to post removal orders. The intent is to get the Failed status gone from the chain listing page.

If you are failing, ask around for a fellow and get the quota fixed. Typically, it is MUCH faster to fix in a fellowship than by hunting solo.

If you are showing Upload, upload and fix that. After you upload, if you're green everything is great. If you show as red, go fix your quota real quickly.

Best of luck to everyone concerned (may be me the next time, who knows?).

Hey Oof, remember Griffmar announced he was on vacation until the 22nd. I would hope that a 4 day window for him would be apropriate. We should give him until the 26th to get an upload. I hope he is not failing but if he is, I'll be all over that!

Thanks!

Thanks for the reminder Ac. Griffmar is in good shape anyway, looks like, but a vacation and not being around is a good reason to be behind on quota. ;)
