hey smart people "HELP" puter question

ok not sure where i am at other then really far behind
my normal puter ate 3 virus's at the same time [dont ask]
on borrowed puter now and hopeing to heck i can get this thing to work somehow..and will definatly be caught up in short order..
sorry for the problem..
and if anyone has any idea .. here is my problem

its the little radar screen above doll icon [yes the little 3x4 box] when i log in it looks fine [and everything seems to be where it belongs] as soon as i change from doll icon or pack inventory it goes all screwy [looks like the picture base has twisted 90 degrees from the top...] totally unuseable
i went in game but with this problem i could not follow fellowship i kept running into everything .. lets just say the experience was not fun..

this machine is a duplicate of my old one [1 gig speed 256k non ddr ram] voodoo 5500 card...] but no way can i fix the above problem

have downloaded / installed / uninstalled / reinstalled // asherons call. dark majesty..and every decal component at least once ..
the only thing that i cannot make work is the radar screen ..
if one of you smart people can help me ... deep expressions of heartfelt gratitude will be headed your way

I don't know if this will help, but it should be an easy enough thing to try anyway. Have you tried setting your video resolution in the game to a different setting? If you can't read the screen ingame to change it, you can start AC up by going the click Start, click Programs, ... route (I usually start AC by hitting a shortcut on my desktop). The main entry screen from the game should have a button where you can change the video settings.

Like I said, it may not help at all, but I would try to change the video settings, maybe turn off 3D, then turn it back on later.

You might post your computer setup and a description of the problem on the Vn boards. That's probably the place that will get the widest readership in the shortest amount of time.

Uhm - I am still trying to decipher what you described

But in general a good start to attempt fixing video problems is to

- start AC with the desktop icon
- go to Settings, press Settings button of "3D Settings"
- check "Run in 800x600 Mode"

This switches the resolution to 800x600 (obviously), but it also activates some sort of "compatibility mode" of the 3D engine, different from the mode when you only switch to 800x600 within the game.

Try if this mode works. If so and if you are used to a higher resolution, switch to that resolution within the game and check if the problem returns...

thank you for the help .. have tried everything to no avail

could only play in 800-600 when started

apparantly its not in the cards at the moment for me to be able to play

at this point all i can do is post my apology as to my inability to make quota i will continue to attempt to make it correct but unless i can get something to work by the end of this week end i ask to be removed as its not fair for others .. i do not wish to take this step as i really enjoy the clan and all the perks.. but if i cant get my game working .. i will pray that my differant puter put together by a friend out of parts will do better but that machine is probably 2-3 weeks away..

at the time that i will be able to get ingame successfully i will petition to regain my spot.. IF ANYONE ELSE THINKS THAT INSTALLING NORTON ANTIVIRUS IS A WAY TO GET RID OF PROBLEMS THINK AGAIN.. sorry
hate to be bitter there but was doing great until virus hit and i tried to fix

if you let me stay in clan i promise to make up all missed xp if i have to play every wakeing moment until cought up i will .. but if not i do understand .. all i ask for is till sunday night to see if I CAN MAKE ANY DAMN THING WORK OR IF I CAN FIND A COMPUTER TO BORROW

Oneman, I've posted a few different notices this past week that I would be putting up removal orders for anyone who is failing quota. What I didn't state in those posts (assuming it was widely known by now) is that removal orders wouldn't be posted right away for people who are having troubles and are posting to keep the managers informed of what's going on. You're working on your computer problems, and you've posted here to let everyone know what's going on, so I will not be posting removal orders for you tonight. Hopefully you can get a computer working soon. You asked us to wait until for Sunday night to get to a working computer, and I don't think that's an unreasonable request at all.

Keep us posted please. I wish you great luck in getting a computer to work. As soon as you do, jump ingame and start asking for a fellow. Get on Meginjarder and ask for a fellow to help you fix a quota debt. If you don't have Meginjarder loaded on whichever computer you end up on, ask around and find someone who has it loaded and get them to put out a fellowship call for you. If I'm ingame I'll be happy to go help you make some XP too.

Maybe we should form an XP Recovery Team within the chains to help out in situations like this?

thannk you very ;much going to see if its possible to make a really old pos puter work on lowest graphic setting...........and let me tell you god its awful [not recommended unless doomed and blind..which you will be after playing for a while at this setting .. puter still fubar ...
differant puter weeks away
thinking today i will right down how many i have passed up then check it again before i stop for some much needed rest

trying to have friend log in with clan information for my toon so will see if that will work
