ATTN: All! Leadership and Loyalty buffs!!
I've noticed a disturbing trend lately, people are either forgetting or neglecting thier allegience buffs when standing around at the mansion, or when logging off.
These buffs are crutial to getting your 93.75% passthrough.
just remember, Allegience buffs = more xp for you!

I was thinking the same thing
In fact the other night I was on my way to the jail with a suspect for assault with a deadly weapon, and all I could think about was..."Did I log with out my loyalty buffed? Did I have my baudren or Xbow in my hand?" Damn, it's a sickness!

As a reminder on the importance of this. If you logged off without buffs, or maybe even with buffs but with vitae to lower your stats, you can lose millions of XP overnight. The bad thing about that is you may not even know it.
What you'll find is that you are hunting like crazy and the quota numbers are barely changing, or maybe you will even be losing ground. The quota is based on the assumption of an automatic passthrough of 93.75%. If you drop below that, it can be almost impossible to catch up.
Last thing: For those of us without leadership trained, make sure you check your number of vassals on a regular basis. Unless you have very high Self, losing even one or two mules can kill you. Some have done cross-server trades, so got 5 mules from the same person. If you lose one of those and don't notice it for a few days, you are probably looking at removal from the chain because you will find it almost impossible to dig yourself out of the XP hole you will find yourself in.

(Cross-posted from Acaddict's post on this subject.)
The bottom line on this is that everyone needs to figure out a way to keep leadership/loyalty/self buffed ALL of the time if they want to be in the chain. It is inherently a part of being in a chain and even if you can hunt for enough XP to make up for not being buffed, why would you want to? Doing so will, guaranteed, take XP out of the chain that would otherwise pass up.
Whether you use a plugin to warn you when your buffs are getting ready to drop, use an alarm to tell you, or use tank or a macro of some kind to keep your allegiance buffs on you, just do something to keep those allegiance buffs active all of the time.

could someone post what the numbers for loyalty and leadership you need to have, should your buffs wear off, and still meet the passup #. It seems to me the best way to avoid the buffs drop prob all together. I do understand that for certain charcters, like melee who didnt start focus and will at 100, this can be expensive to raise to those levels needed.

Leadership:
Leadership needs to be an effective 163. That means, worst case, you can train leadership and raise it that high. There is NO reason to ever have leadership higher than 163. For each vassal you have, you get a 7% bonus of whatever your leadership buffs to. That is, if your leadership is 100 and you have one vassal, your leadership is really 107, but you won't see the bonus on the screen anywhere. If your leadership is 50 and you have one vassal, your leadership is really 53.5. There is also a bonus similar to the loyalty bonus for being sworn for a long time, but it almost never comes into play. If the AVERAGE ingamge time of your vassals being sworn to you is 240 hours, you get an extra 20% added to your leadership value (I think those numbers are right). Since most of us have some vassals who never log on, this bonus will never be enough to depend on.
Loyalty:
Loyalty needs to be an effective 200 to in order to maximize XP passthrough from your vassal to your patron. However, loyalty can NEVER be high enough. Loyalty does two things for you. 1) It affects how much of your vassal's XP you pass up to your patron. 2) In a separate calculation, it affects how much XP you pass up from your hunting.
For vassal XP passup, a buffed value of 200 is all you need. EVERYONE IN THE FC OR OH MUST HAVE AT LEAST A BUFFED 200 LOYALTY. For the XP you passup from your own hunting efforts, you can never have enough loyalty. If your loyalty is at least 200, you are okay for being in the chain. As levels go up, you should raise the loyalty as you go along. Personally, I think we should have different minimum loyalty requirements at different character levels: 200 to be in the chain, at level X have a buffed loyalty of 250, at level Y have a buffed loyalty of 300. Part of that would have to depend on template. A pure melee with starting self of 10 would be expensive to raise to a loyalty of 300. Maybe we should have a "you much raise loyalty by so many clicks, by level X."

The only time my buffs may drop is right after a fight while I may be selling, but when I notice that they are down, I stop what I am doing and buff them up.
The only time I would not do this is at a clan meeting. Well everyone should be there anyway so no reason to buff
