Raising the Quota on the Food Chain? An informal poll

Post by Oof » Sat Jun 28, 2003 1:21 pm

Several people have asked recently about possibly raising the quota on the Food Chain a little bit since XP seems increasingly easier to get.
This is specifically talking about the Food Chain; it does not include the Order of Hyssop.

There is no pressure here. I simply figured this was the fastest, easiest way to get the most representative view of the Food Chain members.

Please respond in this thread. Do you think the quota should be raised for the Food Chain some? Do you think it should be left alone? If you do think it should be raised some, by how much? 2 million more a week seems to be the most common number I have heard offered.

Please DO respond if you have an opinion. No response = I'm okay with what the other people say. We'll let this thread run for a few days and see where we go. Thank you for your time. :)

I would have no problem with raising the quota. 2-3+ mill would be not much harder to make and give more incentive to fight.

I would welcome the extra XP but no i would not like to have the quota raised, I play for way more than XP and if I have to hunt more than I do I will have to stop other things I enjoy as well or leave the chain

I haven't had quota kick in yet, but I would have to vote a conservative "no."

<plug=Horizontal Chain>If people want more XP going through the chain without increasing their personal responsibility, they could hunt in the Horizontal pusher fellow. :) </plug>

No, that is what the 'Order' chain was made for.

I vote no due to "YES" thats what the Order of Hyssop is for. But it does make quite the racket when trying to move up. But thats what its there for.

I also vote no (with Borg's vote), but this was the easiest/fastest way of getting a good cross-spectrum of feedback quickly. Thank you all for your answers. :) Now, the next time someone asks me about raising the quota on the Food Chain, I can say that we asked about it and the answer was no.

Oh, my response to Culticon's suggestion that we go with a straight 100% quota, no cap on the OH is, umm, No! :P

hehe, i do think the OH quota should be raised a bit, though...

I mean, it's not exactly hard to get it in the first place, I'd like to see a 3-4 mil increase... but then, that's just me 8)
I read a book saying that women are from venus, all right? So here's what you get her: Thick layers of sulfuric acid, viscous surface rock, and coronae which seem to be collapsed domes over large magma chambers. Here's $5.

Although I basically am not in the FC anymore I vote NO (maybe I have to return someday from OH ).

It is true that hunting for XP is easier now. But that does not mean that quota has to be raised - it means that

- you can even enjoy more non-quota-hunting play
- you have even more incentive to join the OH
- you can make quota during normal playing/questing easier
- you are less dependent on chain XP - hunt VoD for yourself

XP flow may be related to the quota, but that quota only kicks in at a certain position in the chain.
Good XP flow starts at the lower positions. They can easier hunt for XP now the same way as we "elders" can. But we can help them by - uhm - exploiting the MP-AL Fellowship "feature" which in return benefits us due to better XP flow.

I would say no for the Food Chain. But I do agree with Khaz. The only time I've failed in the OH is when I have a big court case at work( I'm a cop), or when I went on vacation. But when I got back, it only took me a day to catch up. And believe me, I don't play that much, cops don't have THAT much time, but passing is still fairly easy.

Just look at the bank for most OH members, Some are insane...Acaddict! Man he's a nice vassal! I would say that a 2 to 4 million raise wouldn't hurt much. Especially if we manage to organize VoD fellows better. Couple hours out there and you got your quota, even if we raised it you would have it.

But once again, I say the no to the Food.
