Pass/Fail and Quota Calculation Question

Looking at the numbers on the chain listing page..

It seems that "quota" seems not to be max-passthru+12, but 100+12. for OOH and 100%+6 for FC.

In theory, somebody high up could have less than 100% but still be passing quota, but it seems to represent all people with FAIL when under 100%, whether or not they've passed up 6/12M or not.

The old page used to give you a PASSED when below 100%, but still had passed up requisite quota value. I haven't seen that happen on this new page yet.

Something somebody may want to investigate.

Maybe my math is bad or something.

The % column isn't actually a raw pass-through number. It's a "What percentage of my quota have I made". The formula for that number is .9375 * received xp + 12 million.

When you look at someone's detailed report, you'll see that most people who are showing above 100% on the chain report are actually passing through 97-99%.

For example:

Dave Mustaine 162 118.21 % 95.596 %

The 118% is what I've done for quota. The 95% is what my quota is against what I have received.

Thats it in a nutshell. I have nothing to add, but this: Good answer Dave. :D

Most people don't look at the "long report" page. But if you're really into number crunching, thats the page to look at.

Let me say though, that the short report is generally all the average chain member needs to look at to get info on their status.

It took me a while to realize this myself.. math makes my head hurt :D
but I find this works a lot better to see how close you are to failing and approx how much you need to go get

So the rule of thumb is to look at the Status column, and if status says "Failed," then the red number in the "Credit/Debit" column is how much XP you've got to push to get back up to passing?

And the % can be under 100% and still be passing if you are getting tons and tons of chain XP and the quota cap is kicking in?

Yes that is correct.

No that is incorrect. 100% and above will always be passing, because that formula already takes into account the 12 mill cap (trust me on this, I've actually seen Ranger's code [*gasp*]).
