Ditto. Still, the fact is that in both of these 'elections' the winner had less than 50% of the majority vote ... in this case only 34

not quite like the 2000 'elections' the winner there did not even have a majority of the votes, just carried the most electoral votes.

Er, true. I was thinking in terms of percentages. The winner here got 34% of the votes. In the 2000 Election he had what, 48%?
