I have to say something in regards to the situation I had last nite.
Kajun strike requested removal from the chain and did Ishamael. Then Kajun left LD and took all of us with him leaving a bunch of people in a huge mess last nite.
It would be great if those of you in the chain would take the time to get to know who is below you and try to prevent situations such as this one. It's really not fair to those of us that chose not to be involved in a chain to be put out and scrambling like this. If you plan on leaving LD when you leave the chain please pass the information down as quickly as possible. Try to be considerate enough to give the people below you time to find new patrons before the break so that we can keep our mansion access and keep our LD tag that some of us are quite proud of.
Just my mini rant today

Kajun left by breaking, or did it just take longer than normal when they were doing the swear around?

No..he didn't leave by breaking. He did everything right in that aspect. My statements above were in regards to leaving LD altogether. I was quite unhappy to log in last nite and find out I was in Laris. It would have been much better to have some sort of communication going on so that those of us affected could find new patrons ahead of time and not have to scramble around like we did. I'm still out of LD right now but that will be fixed tonite.

Oh, you were somewhere under Kajun.
I get it now.
Sorry for your trouble. Point well taken. We do need to make sure our vassals want to go if we decide to make a move like that. Hope you get back in soon.

thanks Sassy for bringing this to the boards.......... I am also affected by the break. If not for the PM 's that I rec'd from kind folks, then I would have been unhappy with logging on to see that I didn't recall to the LD mansion but to some mansion that I know next to nill about
I also hope to be back in LD tonight.........(EDIT: am feeling like a red-headed stepchild..... )

If you are waiting for a message from me and you haven't received it yet...... is that not, in itself, the message ?............. Tiarra/Nyla

The real appology should be made by me as Sassy's patron. I didn't foresee this outcome of events. I spoke with KS three days ago (actually at about 2 a.m) I had no idea he intended to break from LD.
I believe the situation is more or less resolved at this point via PM's. If there is anything that needs to be done on my part, please let me know.
Sorry about the mess.
P.S. I guess that means I need to find a new patron for when I get back into the game.

I agree with most of everything you said Sassy, well, i agree with everything you said, but not how everything was said.
You said:
It should be a matter of simple courtesy for ANYONE to let their vassals know they are going to leave by such-and-such a date, and you should find another patron before that date. Then, that person's direct vassals should do the same if they decide to leave too.
Once or twice, I've found myself in a monarchy without wanting to be there and it's icky.
I'm glad you posted this because maybe it will make people think before they jump out to somewhere else.
If anyone finds themselves out of the monarchy because of Kajun's action still this afternoon or tonight, I think I have one slot open on Oof still, and a couple of slots open on Borg. I'll be glad to provide you with an LD home, either permanently, or until you find a patron you like.
I'll use extra smileys for Sassy this time

You said:
I think this is bigger than a chain problem; it's a matter of respect problem and can happen regardless of whether the person leaving was in a chain. At the point when Kajun left to go back to Laris (he was in her monarchy waaay back when I was still in thre), he was already completely out of the chain, including not having a chain vassal anymore. So when he left to go back over to Laris, he took vassals from LD that he had picked up somewhere along the line.It would be great if those of you in the chain would take the time to get to know who is below you and try to prevent situations such as this one. It's really not fair to those of us that chose not to be involved in a chain to be put out and scrambling like this.

Oof, thanks for saying, I agree completely.I think this is bigger than a chain problem; it's a matter of respect problem and can happen regardless of whether the person leaving was in a chain.

he took vassals from LD that he had picked up somewhere along the line
He picked up this particular group of people from he and Ish being in the chain so I guess that's why I posted it here. But again, I agree with you that courtesy should be shown by everyone not just people in th chain.
Thanks for the offer of help. I think we have it all fixed now or will when we all get logged on tonite.
And thanks for the extra smileys

Same goes for me. I can take on anyone who finds themselves out of the monarchy. Just PM me and we'll get it set up.

Ish, there's no reason for you to apologize for this. You didn't know Kajun was going back to Laris. In Kajun's defense, he has always struck me as a nice guy; I'm sure he simply wasn't thinking about the ramifications of his actions.
Hmm, maybe I'll try that on the police the next time.
Officer: Excuse me sir, why were you driving 95 miles an hour through a hospital zone?
Me: I'm sorry Officer, I wasn't thinking about the ramifications of my actions. May I go now?
Think it will fly?

Ish, let me know if you need a patron - I'm always willing to take on another good soul

I read a book saying that women are from venus, all right? So here's what you get her: Thick layers of sulfuric acid, viscous surface rock, and coronae which seem to be collapsed domes over large magma chambers. Here's $5.
