Died 5 minutes prior to server crash, what do i do?

Ok, Sunday I died about 5 minutes before the server crashed. When I was able to log on Monday night, all my death items were on my toon and I found myself at the ls.

I figured they just re-rolled prior to my death but, thought i would just check it out anyway. Sure enough i had a corpse on the ground where i died the night before. To my surprise, my death items were there too!!! An AL 380 base haubie happen to be one of them. Now i have duplicate items!! Yes, I have 2 base AL 380 red hauberks with identical protects and value now!!

Here is my delema: Do I report myself to turbine for this so they don't catch me with a duplicated item (that is if they can search for such a thing), or do I keep my mouth shut and keep my duplicate for back-up???

Any ideas would be appreciated!!!!!

keep it, definitly. it was their fault, you are benefiting from their mistake not yours, so if they find out you have two nice hauberks, then the worst they will do is take it back. you will have no problems from anything you have done.

Hmmm. AL 380 Hauberks that drop on death. Give em both to Admins! LOL I dont' think it would hurt to report the incident if it bothers you that much.

I have 2 of them now. AL 380 base, aa,a,a,a,ba,a, ba. Value 44,178...2673bu (bright red LOL). The biggest reason i posted this is that if any questions arise, i have an aliby! What i said happened did happen!

same thing happened to me. unfortunately i went fishing and couldn't log back on till tues. night i lost my di's. and a few that didn't belong to me.

oh well i had a good time out in the country so it worked out.

I think the only time they would ban you is if you do it on purpose

Yeah, it's all water under the bridge when things get duped because of unintentional server outages and patches. When a server is brought down intentionally by various means, they can usually figure out who did it. The fact that this downtime was because of a failure with the character data server has absolutely nothing to do with you, so you're 100% blameless.

I figure, they wouldn't compensate you if you ended up with 0 hauberks, so they'd better not punish you for ending up with 2.

Plus, this way you still have a nice looking hauberk to wear while you send the other one to the cleaners to get rid of all of the splattered Virindi blood.
