I was Resurection on DT. 113 lvls from scratch. One thing I've always been amused by the general DT populous, is how they act like they are better than other servers. Its comical. Its just a video game. In my experience, there were indeed some very good players on DT. I hooked up with some old DT buddies on Shadowclaim and we ripped the place apart, but theres nothing wrong with a little humility. I never use the old "I came from DT!" bs. In fact most people don't know I ever played there.
I guess what Im tying to say is, save us the DT superior dance. We aren't impressed.
As for VoD fellows, yes, sometimes things go wrong. A few pointers:
If you are under lvl 100, then be polite. Hang back and support the fellow in a big group. In a small group, be careful and play smart.
If you are a leader, keep the non-clan low level charcters to a minimum. (If Im running a fellow out there and somebody under 100 who is not in the clan wants in, I just tell em Im full. Lvl 50ish guys from other clans really don't do anything for you at all. They lower xp, and often act like noobs. Why crank somebody elses chain? Save the spot for a clan mate.)
Bane for all physicals and cold at the minimum. These are the most common forms of melee and missle attack out there.
Leave Shadows, Olthoi, Tremendous Monoguas, and generally Banderlings alone. They are slow to drop and slow down xp or in the case of shadows are worth crap xp.
Prime targets: Virindi (Paras or Quids), Drudges, Gromnies, Undead (especially in larger fellows where people can slide in behind their shields), Dillos (xp sux, but super easy to drop and they don't debuff like shadows.
Try to maintain some sort of order. If you are in a fellow with me, or Priest, or AC, or Mith or anyone else who hunts there alot. LISTEN. Mimic our movements. Go where we go. Attack when we attack. Pause when we pause. Of course if you are experienced enough, you can read each others moves. Anticipate whats going to happen. I must say my smoothest fellows are with Priest because we hunt together enough to fight well as a team. When in doubt, follow the leader.
When supporting a fellow with healing, target the person that made the first attack. (Usually a mage who dropped a vuln) This is the one the mobs will go after first and the one who will often take the most damage.
I'll prolly do a VoD write-up over on the Art of War forum sometime this weekend, since it seems to be getting more popular with the clan in general.
Im glad everyone is moving to the more challenging VoD hunting grounds. If you don't spend any time there, give it a shot. A good fellow out there is a lot of fun.
