The Fourteenth Day

The Fourteenth Day.
Another good morning,
Merry sunshine upon my face,
And now I find mself turning,
To find you wraped in delicate lace.
How we used to laugh and play,
Its all so different now,
Walking hand in hand all day,
Not a care about when or how.
Inside your smile warms my heart,
Your gaze completes my soul,
Yet I look on you as a peice of art,
Marveling at what made me whole.
My arms wrap around you,
As you lie still and rest,
I wish what was, was not true,
That this was jsut a test.
For today is the fourteenth day,
Of a passing month before next may.
I lay my true love down to sleep,
Trying not to fall down and weep.
And today is the fourteenth day,
I've forgotten how to pray.
And now my love has left this place,
Leaving me in a cold embrace.
