OK guys, gonna try this around 12 or 1pm EST, if anyone is available. I might be going out tonight, so not sure I can do it much later. If this doesn't work out, maybe we can try another time.

Oh good grief .. I hate to flame you .. but with a couple of hours warning of when you are starting the quest .. I am reading this too late. :x

I read this forum once or twice a day. And I really would wish folk on here would consider that is a fact for most of us that enjoy the game .. and not waiting in this forum for the next announcment for the start of a quest.

Like Panz said .. using the calendar kinda puts us in the position of commiting a day or so in advance so the rest of us can show up to support you. (I had a uber LP to add :P ..)

If the quest did not go off because of your evening plans .. post it so I can try again to attend.

Oh .. BTW .. I do have the auto-responded e-mail turn on to know when you respond on the forum.........

sigh. thanks for the flame. makes me really want to try to set up another quest. i'm new to this. i'm still learning. give me a break. Oh, and Rogoon, if you were interested in this and you read the boards every day, why didn't you post a time you might be interested in going? I only know of 2 people who said they wanted to go.

that said, frore did not take place today. i hope to retry later this week or next weekend.

IF you would like to go, post here and let me know when would be good for you. thank you.

Neu.....thanks for stepping up to the plate and being a quest leader!! We all appreciate it :D .

Rogoon......Neu posted this on Thursday. If you read the forums once or twice a day why did you not post expressing an interest as Neu asked everyone to do?

Not all of our quests are done with time to put on the calender. We do many quests with short timing like this. Some you'll make and some you won't. It's simply not a big deal. Roll with the punches!

But please don't slam the quest leader who gave it a good shot.

Neuslayer is doing great as a quest leader .. nothing said about that.

But the only post she made about when this was going to happen was on the first post as quoted below ... er .. sometime this weekend. Kinda vage.
Neuslayer wrote:I am going to run this quest this weekend. I've only done it 2 times, but the last time was this past weekend and it went well with just 3 of us. If you are interested, let me know. I don't have a time set yet. As soon as I do, I will put it here and on the quest calender. If you would like to go, let me know what would be a good time.
Yes I did read this and continued to watch this thread from Thrusday on. Now doublecheck me .. but I did not see anything more about a time (or day) mention till this morning a couple of hours before the time that she "may" do it. (Refer to the Sunday AM posting .. 10:15am EST our time.)

As for the Sassy's reference to my reading it in a timely manner .. I read this forum around 8:30am this morning. I read it again about 2:00pm this afternoon (both times are EST). That's why I was annoyed .. there was nothing this morning .. nothing in the calendar .. then this afternoon it was too late.

I am a layed-off computer engineer and have 3 years experiance on Asheron's Call. I have 4 accounts and 3 computers here that can run the accounts at the same time. With ACExplorer and many Decal tools, I have many many resources to work with here. This is not counting all the web sites that I have bookmarked over time for reference information about the quests.

I am more then glad to help out with a quest. I have but one simple request ..

When?

I think Neu has done a fine job in trying to set this quest up. Her motive obviously throughout this thread has been to be considerate of others in choosing at time that is best for everyone. And she recieved no help on that from ANYONE. That was all she was looking for.

Saying that, I agree that one can set a time and see who shows up. Place it on the calendar for reference and then roll when the time comes. However, I have done this (for this very quest as a matter of fact) and only three people showed up (me myself and I). Had I opened it up to input on times, it would have probably turned out different. Since then, I have learned that I open it up for times, and then pick a day/time at least 1-2 days forward. I'll betcha that Neu will do this next time. She's a smart lass and learns fast. :)

So lets help those trying to lead by responding to their requests for input and being patient. It will mean the world to them and to the clan as a whole.

ok OK .. I can see that Im in trouble. I apologize!

For anybody's interest, this is the very first quest in Asheron's Call, release in December 1999. The original write up on this quest makes it seem easy. My guess is that .. like other quests .. it could be more interesting now.

I'm going to do some prep work on this tomorrow night (Tuesday evening from 6:00pm to 10:00pm EST). I'll work at getting the Lich Seal, scroll(s), transcriptions, Mairisa's key, and the portal to the Mountain Cavern Portal. Im not sure but if I remember correctly, one of the portals is tieable. After that, I will place my (extra) characters where needed for lockpick/door openers and where needed for levers. Doing all this will allow me to get familiar with the (two) dungeon(s). There is a one week quest timer somewhere here.

Here is information and maps for the quest.
