Problems with MJ and IRC

Since the patch, I've had problems with IRC thru MJ. I can log on to IRC but it won't let me auto-join the LD channel. Any ideas on how to fix this? Thanks.

ive had the same problem . . only its just with one character. Of course its my main, but thats to be expected. . . anyone know whats going on?

I'm experiencing problems. In fact I was just going to make a post to see if anyone else is too

When I log in with any of my toons, I get

"Error in WebRequest.Post. Number: -2146697208, Description: Method '~' of object '~' failed"

I have no clue what that means and after checking the various decal plugins i have it seems to be MJ. IRC seems to work but MJ seems to be the problem. I get this message over and over too. I've tried re-installing decal and MJ and so far no luck.

Any ideas on my problem, Trek. I log on to IRC just fine thru MJ then I get "waiting to autojoin channel" and then nothing else. How do I get it to autojoin channal? And when I log on anyone other then Neu, I get a message that I'll need to copy and paste here when I get home. LOL.

Are you absolutely positively sure that you use the correct MEGINJARDER.XML configuration file for LD (the one pointed to in the appropriate link thread) ?
When you uncheck the Autojoin checkbox on the IRC tab and then recheck it - do you get the same result ?

In the Meginjarder folder there might be a file called "log.txt". You probably can cut&paste the last few lines of it here in a post ?

The other toons where MJ shows an error message are in LD as well ?

Yes. Worked fine until the last patch.

Yes

Yes. Says something about since there being problems, the host of the channel is restricting access and i need to identify myself with nickserv but can't figure out how to do that either thru MJ.[/quote]

If there is a problem in MJ, it is restricted to the IRC part. The error message you mention is not from MJ, but already from the IRC server.
So without knowing anything about IRC I guess you might have those problems with other IRC plugins too.

You could uncheck the Autojoin in the IRC tab, therefore disabling MJ-IRC, then use another IRC plugin like dirCAL or the ElComs part of ElTank for the IRC functionality.
Even if you face the same IRC related problems maybe those plugins offer more IRC commands than MJ which only offers the very basic chat command.

Hmm thinking of ElTank - do you by any chance have ElTank installed and ElComs enabled the same time you try to use MJ-IRC ?

Yes, I have Eltank but no i don't have the comms enabled. Too much clutter for me!!! Thanks, Trek. Not sure what to do. Gonna take Ranger's suggestion one of these days and reupdate MJ and refresh the LD address and see what happens. If it still doesn't work, might be losing MJ. sigh.

There is no need to sacrifice all of MJ just because MJ-IRC does not work. As I mentioned above just disable MJ-IRC by unchecking Autojoin in the IRC tab and use the rest of MJ as usual. Use dirCAL or ElComs for IRC.

Chada's problems reminded me of asking you whether you use a software-, or hardware-Firewall. If so you have to check that port TCP 9000 is open.

AC uses UDP 9000 per default. So even if your AC works that does not mean that IRC will work through the same firewall, because it uses TCP and not UDP.
