Some people are so stupid!

I just feel the need to vent. I live in Phoenix, AZ, where it's about 110 degrees everyday right now. Well, some stupid woman was arrested yesterday because she left her 18 month old baby sitting in the backseat of her BLACK SUV while she went in a Costco to shop. People estimated that the baby was in the car alone for at least 30-40 minutes. Cars in the summertime here can reach 140 degrees inside while sitting idle.

Luckily people broke into her car and grabbed the child out. They ran him inside to cool off and called 911. They said the poor baby was bright red and sweating profusely. The lady recognized her baby when they brought it in. Apparently she was upset that other people were handling her child...

She couldn't understand what the problem was! She thought he'd be OK because she left a window cracked open!

Get this, she is a certified and registered attorney who has passed the state bar exam, so it's not like she's an invalid. She also had a 'Child Abuse Prevention' frame for her license plate!

I can't fathom why some people feel the need to bear children. This kind of stupidity runs rampant in this state. It's an almost weekly occurance that you hear about child drownings, since there are many swimming pools out here! People don't even protect their kids!

I DON'T EVEN LEAVE MY DOG'S IN THE CAR ALONE... EVER!!!

*sigh*

Sorry to complain, but this just makes me sick! :bad-words:

Thank Heavens for the attentiveness of strangers and that baby is alive.

A 22 month old baby boy just died here in Nashville last week. It's estimated he was in the car for about 6-7 hours. The car was parked outside the daycare center his mother OWNS. . She says she thought one of her daughters had taken him inside and they are all of 4 and 5 years old.

/e shakes head in disbelief

Sounds about like the grandma here that forgot to take her 2 year old grandchild to the day care and just went on to work....left him in the car seat in the back of the car.....came out 8 hrs later and he had died..=(

my 2 cents

I personally take my kids in everywhere. I can't understand the reasoning in some parents. My parents weren't the best but they never left me anywhere or forgot about me!!!!!!!!!!!! My kids are my whole world!!! I love them more than anything. We see cases at least once a month regarding children being forgotten.

I live in Texas and this kind of stuff happens almost weekly here too....is there something wrong with Southerners?...sorry...no real offense meant here...however I can't comprehend this crap...I'm originally from Canada....been here 5 years...now I'm not saying we are perfect up there in the North...but geeesh....you don't have to be a rocket scientist to figure out you should NEVER leave your kid alone....NEVER!....I always knew where mine was....I also came from a family of 6 kids and my parents knew where we were too...well....that is until we were old enough to be out and we did not want our parents to know....

The first time in my life I was ever a place my parents didn't know where I was or how to get hold of me in less than 10 minutes, was the very time my brother decided to try exploding his appendix!

I know what you mean. As some of you know, I'm a police officer in Northern California. I can't tell you how many times I seen people do the dumbest things. And just like you said, they are normal people. We have one lady who lives in 2.2 Million dollar home, 4000 sq ft, and she's a lawyer, a very good lawyer. Well, about a year ago I went up to her house on a medical check. Well, whe nI walked in side my mouth dropped. The house was a disaster, crap, piss, rotten food on the ground. Her sons room (he was 3) had empty wime bottles in in, broken glass, no sheets on the bed, so on and so on. The whole time that I was interrogating her, she kept wondering why she was under arrest. Still makes me sad thinking about her child. You just can never know.

I've got just the remedy: a good old-fashioned beating with a Clue-by-Four. WHACK WHACK!
