Ok. Name the group that sings this remake:

I can remember the first time I heard this version. Late night, listening to AM... (You youngsters have no clue) It blew me away. I never heard it or saw an album of it again until the internet. It's still one of my fav's.

First person to get it right, gets 50 plats.

Frijid Pink is correct.

The Animals did it originally. In addition:

Frijid Pink, Texas Alexander, and later covered by Leadbelly, Charlie Byrd, Roy Acuff, Woody Guthrie, the Weavers, Peter, Paul & Mary, Henry Mancini, Dolly Parton, David Allan Coe, John Fahey, Waylon Jennings, Tim Hardin, Buster Poindexter, Marianne Faithful, Tracy Chapman and Bob Dylan. The song has it's roots in a 17th century folk melody.

Ummm No Deric, it's Podunk was correct, it was the band "Frijid Pink", my favorite remake of the song.
