Picture, if you will, taking a stroll through Rithwic, on your way to ML Plateau, when, your 6th sense goes off with "Ball of Gunk", you have 6, but you decide, "Hell, what's wrong with having 7?"

You approach the "Ball of Gunk" and pick it up... (remember, it didn't spawn under your feet, you had to walk to get it... it was on the ground for some time).

Now.... the rest of the story.

Behold' says, "hey"
Behold' tells you, "gimme that back"
You tell Behold', "=O"
Behold' tells you, "the gunk ball"
You give Behold' Ball of Gunk.
You tell Behold', "Ummmmmmmm ok. Next time.. a please?"
You give Behold' Ball of Gunk. (See, even nice enough to give him one of my very own "Balls of Gunk")
Behold' tells you, "not necessary when its mine to begin with"
You tell Behold', "Ummm no, I didn't steal it.. so... how did it end up in my posession?"
Behold' tells you, "but if this will help, please dont take my balls of gunk"
Behold' tells you, "i dunno, how did it?"
Behold' tells you, "you picked it up"
You tell Behold', "Yes, I picked something up off the ground...... and...??"
Behold' tells you, "and it was mine, maybe ill inscribe them"
You tell Behold', "Here, there is a strange stick I just picked up, is that yours also?"
Behold' tells you, "no cause the game spawned it"
You tell Behold', "Sorry fella' wrong excuse.. balls of gunk don't spawn on the ground."
Behold' tells you, "ok.. exactky"
Behold' tells you, "exactly"
Behold' tells you, "which means someone dropped it"
Behold' tells you, "and considering i was right by it, i might or might not want it"
You tell Behold', "EXACTLY "
You tell Behold', "I was figuring... ya' didn't.. seeing as how ya' dropped it.. but.. excuse my presuption of the obvious."

A few minutes later, What do I hear but... My 6th sense going off with "Ball of Gunk".

Yes ladies and Gentlemen, the moron dropped it on the ground again.

So, I walk up and...

You say, "That one yours too?"
Behold' says, "read it"
Behold' says, "read the inscript"
(I pick up the Ball of Gunk)
- Inscription -

"Behold''s ball of gunk, DO NOT PICK IT UP OFF THE GROUND!!!" - Behold'

Behold' says, "so... how about you hand me that ball o gunk plz?"
You say, "Well, seeing as how I gave you two, maybe I'll keep this one.. smartass."

(At this point, I take out one of my 5 Balls of Gunk (since I had given him my 6th, and I make a NEW inscription, just for him))

- Inscription -

"My Ball of Gunk" - Pee-Wee

You give Behold' Ball of Gunk.
Your patron Lucky Battle says to you, "Behold' tells you, "it appears that your vassal pee-wee is stealing the ball of gunks i put on the ground to attract fish""
(At this point, I literally laugh out loud)
Your patron Lucky Battle says to you, "don't do that anymore or I have to give you a spanking"
You say to your Patron, "No, I didn't steal anything.... You can read the post in a little while, when I finish."
You tell Behold', "How is it I stole a ball of gunk, when you came out with one more than you had?"
Behold' tells you, "i asked you nicely for it back and .. Pee-Wee says, "Well, seeing as how I gave you two, maybe I'll keep this one.. smartass.""
Behold' tells you, "i didnt ask for it, you gave it to me, thus theyre both mine...."
Your patron Lucky Battle says to you, "then again ... I don't know how you can steal gunk that he placed on the ground ... but thats between you two"
You tell Behold', "And, just as anything on the ground is fair game... So is the one I gave you. Or, can I say I just put it on you to hold for me? That sounds just as crazy."
Behold' tells you, "but, it was inscribed by me"
You tell Behold', "dude, had you just asked "nicely" as you said, the FIRST time, this would not be an issue, now would it?"
ou tell Behold', "On the serious side man. Honestly, putting them on the ground does not do anything for attracting fish."
Behold' tells you, "of course not, but i can if i believe it does cant i?"
You tell Al'Qua Traz, "AHH"
Al'Qua Traz tells you, "AHHHHHHH"
You tell Behold', "sure, but, putting things on the ground, and EXPECTING people to give them back is highly presumptuous. I was even nice enough to give you one MORE back."
You tell Behold', "THAT my friend, is kindness."
Behold' tells you, "yes but i didnt ask for it and then you called me a smartass"
Behold' tells you, "so was it even worth it to give it to me?"
You tell Behold', "Obviously not... I guess. Just as it wasn't worth giving the original one back either. Two acts of generosity turned ugly."
Behold' tells you, "i didnt tell you to say what you said"
You tell Behold', "but this started long before what I said.. so, that's a mute point."



Some people... Are just clueless.

In game theft is an integral part of the game... when one places any item on the groun you are placeing that itme at risk that it may be stolen by soemone else.

It is the position of the developers/producers/administration of asherons call that there is nothign they can or will do against it and or peoples stupidity to rely that anyhtign they place on the ground will stay there.

and there is nothing in game that increases the likleyhood of catchign more fish aside from timeing of certain e-mot actions of the fishign hles.

Hey Pee-Wee, I have some brown lumps I've been saving for you for a long time now. Would you like those so you can inscribe one and put it on the ground (assuming you can find an appropriate "test subject")?

You could inscribe it with something like, "Pee-Wee"s brown lump, DO NOT PICK IT UP OFF THE GROUND!!! I put it there to attract worms. I will catch the worms and cause them to scream, and thus will attract fish. - Pee-Wee"

Phred, you are wrong on one point. When you place something on the ground, you are not putting it at risk of theft. You are putting it at a risk of being lost. There is a difference.

All of the hundreds of minnows that people have dropped on the ground... anyone picking those up are thiefs? No, of course not. Theft of something off the ground is based SOLELY at the perspective of the person who put it on the ground. Therefore, it can't be blamed on the person picking it up, seeing as they have no idea what the intentions of the person dropping it were.

I find your stereo in the street, next to your garbage can, it's not theft. I find it in your den, while you are on vacation at Disneyland after I toss a rock through the window... THAT is theft.

I've always played by the rules that if it's on the ground.. it's fair game. However, as you see by my post, when people ask for it back, I do give it back. I know, I have "Dropped" things before, but... this was just a tad on the "retarded" side. hahaha

though theft of soemthign truley valuable we frown in.. the small stuff is not to be sweated.

Maybe that guy was trying to Dupe the "Ball of Gunk". Maybe it was the only one he had, and was just about to dupe it, when you came along. Maybe if you had came by 30 mins later he would have had a pack full of "Ball of Gunk". Made by duping the first one over and over, and whouldn't have made a fuss.

Think about it. He didn't have the first one inscribed. Then you came by, then he thinks that he would have to inscribe each one, over and over, because he has 3-4 packs full of these dupped "Ball of Gunk".(or he will have) So he conclueds with: inscribing one then dupping that one, so the're all inscribed, thus saving himself all that typing.

The fact that dupping is a major crime is part of this as well. He was about to start dupping "Ball of Gunk". He was fearful of everyone, thus his actions, as you put it "was just a tad on the "retarded" side"

Pee Wee I feel that in the long run you stopped him from dupping "Ball of Gunk" and thus saving him from being perma - banned.

Pee Wee you have saved him. Because of you he will be able to play AC for years to come. You were there in his moment of weakness. I'm sure he won't admitt it, but he is greatfull for you being there.

Of course, my next experiment is to lay my Scored Shard on the ground and see if it attracts Crystal Shards..... I'm sure nobody would pick up that... right?

ok pee-wee i litteraly laughed my ass off the whole tim ei was reading that, the guys was a moron and the same thing happent to me but i wasn't nice enought to give him the gunk back, it is on my cottage above my door with his inscrition on it ^_^

Oh, I didn't give him back HIS ball of gunk, I gave him back MINE, with my own inscription. I also have the one with his inscription, and I will have it hanging in the Villa soon
