Whats the best way to macro for money?

Post by Jack_Able » Mon Feb 17, 2003 2:32 am

Is there a LD macro forum? I remember there was one but lost the link.
I hope posting here is ok

My thoughts.

I would like to stop buying Platts by the 100’s off of ebay. I assume that they macro to get them. I would like to macro them for myself and my vassals. I’m sure they don’t want me to know there secret, due to the fact that they will lose me as a customer. So I don’t ask. So who do I ask? You guys of course!

Background.
I have 2 accounts, each with a level 45 trades mule. (Alchemy, cooking, healing, fletching, and item magic) These 2 accounts are “chainedâ€￾ together with good xp pass up. So as time goes on they will level with out spending time on them. So if I need to change something it will be possible. (Example: make fletching spec. instead of trained)

I am not asking anyone to give me a macro or write one for me. I have done them in the past, long ago (1 yr), and things have changed. I look forward to learning it all over again. I have gone to the actool site and I feel it’s not too kind / giving to noobs. (I have been out so long, I am a noob again) Later I will go there to post, now I just read.

I know there are some Decal Plug-ins out there as well. (afk cooking and alchemy) I’ll be looking into them as well. However my main goal is to learn actool and write my own macros.

Open questions

Whats the best way to macro for money?
Alchemy macro?
What to make? Is healing potions still #1?
Hunt, loot, sell macro?
OR
Fletching macro?
What to make / sell? (I herd this got nerfed a while back)

Locations?
Has anyone seen people clapping there hands non stop and appear to be macroing by a shop? If so what town?
All I have seen is a few bots in Eastham mage shop. (Which, look like they’re doing healing potions)

Again, I hope posting here is ok
Thanks for any info.

i believe there two main macros out there today ......

first one easiest of the two is health potions ..

health potion macros can generate up to 3 plats an hour.
two ways make em from scratch ... like u see the peops at eastham do .
or buy the health draughts and make em.

and casino macros..... using the green triangles to get soul render arrows.

oh my god, is it really that difficult to go hunt and buy your own? you can make 10 per hr if you hunt at a place like aerlinthe. Also, go hunt salvage somewhere and sell steel.. it goes for 30-40 plats per bag EASY.

Most of the ones selling Plats had macro'd them long before they got nerfed making it harder to acquire them thru that means. I've heard of a few actually having what they call a plat mule.....geeesh....at 100 per stack....a mule holding nothing but plats....omg...it's unbelievable....but I do know many many players who made tons off the old programs especially the one called pyreal golem...at least I think that's what it was called.

There are no fast making plat macro's out there that I'm aware of, but I'm no expert either when it comes to macro'ing since I'm very anti about the subject so know little about 99% of the 3rd party progs available......the fastest way to get plats is to hunt for loot....the right areas can net you about 8-10 plats per round of buffs.....second way is to trade salvage for plats. One of the most difficult things to do is take time away from hunting only for xp's when that is what many prefer more than anything...I have learned to take 1...sometimes 2 days per week which I use to hunt exclusively for loot/money/salvage/plats. I'm not rich, but I survive.....:)

Good luck in your quest for Plats....:)

i got a tip for you

if you have a lvl 80 chars go tag along with a bobo quest and when you get to the tusker food storage dungeon camp it(i believe its the 3rd dungeon) its filled with reapers and they drop insane ammount of peas after a few hours there you will have plenty of cash to stock up on plats(2 million on pyreals is what you can take home after a hour so plenty to get plats or stock with MMD notes

ps. im not in the clan but i may be joining at some times so i check these boards at time also becuase i know some peeps in it so i post at time if you dont mind :P

I gotta say trade bot is the way to go as well.

I dont mind asking for low prices on my stuff since its just going to sit on a mule anwyas, so bringin in some plats for it is well worth it

you forgot how? Well what you do is open the corpse of the monster you just killed, then take the items out of the monsters corpse. You now have them in your pack.

That is how you loot :)

The real key to plats, is to bug your patron :)
