BBQ Season is on the way...

BBQ Season

After the long months of cold and winter, we will soon be coming up to
summer and BBQ season. Therefore it is important to refresh your
memory on the etiquette of this sublime outdoor cooking as it's the
only type of cooking a real man will do, probably because there is
an element of danger involved.

When a man volunteers to do the BBQ the following chain of events are put into motion:

Routine...

1) The woman buys the food.
2) The woman makes the salad, prepares the vegetables, and makes dessert.
3) The woman prepares the meat for cooking, places it on a tray along with the necessary cooking utensils and sauces, and takes it to the man who is lounging beside the grill - beer in hand.

Here comes the important part:

4) THE MAN PLACES THE MEAT ON THE GRILL.

More routine....

5) The woman goes inside to organize the plates and cutlery.
6) The woman comes out to tell the man that the meat is burning. He
thanks her and asks if she will bring another beer while he deals with the situation

Important again:

7) THE MAN TAKES THE MEAT OFF THE GRILL AND HANDS IT TO THE WOMAN.
More routine....

8) The woman prepares the plates, salad, bread, utensils, napkins,
sauces and brings them to the table.
9) After eating, the woman clears the table and does the dishes.

And most important of all:

10) Everyone PRAISES the MAN and THANKS HIM for his cooking efforts.

11) The man asks the woman how she enjoyed "Her night off." And, upon seeing her annoyed reaction, concludes that there's just no pleasing some women...

How come I do #4 and #7 and he still gets the praise???

;)

My hubby is NOT allowed near the BBQ!

The very first time we BBQ'ed with a real bbq (not a hibachi. . .but then I did that too), we had a bunch of friends over to our very first house.

Hubby gets everything going, leaves the thing on high, puts on the meats and then takes everyone on several tours of the house. In the meantime, the meat is on fire!!

No, he's not allowed near the BBQ except to clean it

hehe

Several years ago, we had a superbowl party. I was making wings, outisde. I didn't pay attention to the oil temp and soon the oil was truning brownish. Perhaps I should have let it cool down first. Well, I didn't. I put the wings in -- oil flow over big pot in to propane - WOOSH!!! Fire fifteen feet high. People inside the house said they could feel it.

It took years for that hedge to start growing again.

Yes BBQ's the man's domain....ar ar ar...fire/raw meat...flames

I BBQ almost every day in the summer.

But let me tell you another man story...

This guy goes parachuting for the first time. He gets trained and packs his own shute. so they get out over the drop zone and the instructor tells him for the first jump just wait 3 seconds then pull the ripcord.
So he all excited and out he goes counts to 3 and pulls...the chute comes out but is tangled and doesnt open.
He remembers what his instructor says and doesnt panic and searchs for his ripcord forthe reserve shute!
He gives that a good yank and again it balls up and doesnt open, so now he panics! he looks around and see's something coming up from the earth towards him fast. As it gets closer he see's its just this guy so he shouts out "Hey do know anything about parachutes?" the guy replies "sorry no, but hey do you know anything about gas barbeques?"

 :-D
happy trails all
