Trying to come back...

So I've stopped playing CoH/CoV. Hated the gameplay. Looked pretty, but that was it. Can't believe I stuck it out for over a year.

Anyway, moved on to World of Warcraft. Really fun game. Great graphics, playability is nice. Overall, I'm happy with the game. However, as is my role in life, I get tired of this game or that, and must come back to my old friend AC. Always been treated nicely. However, do to poor judgement on my behalf, I uninstalled AC, and removed all the components to make room for Dungeons & Dragons Online Beta. My gawd, that game is less appealing to me then CoH. So, I reinstall AC: ToD, get the account activated, log in and wait for the download of forever to start. It doesn't. I keep getting an error message 'The Connection to the Server has been lost'. Most annoying.

So, I go to support, read all the FAQs, turned off my firewall, rebooted the computer, tried again, same error message.

So...any of you wiz kids know how the heck I can get back in?

I think the ports may have changed. I'll look and see.

There use to be a link to where you could download all the patches if you had been away from the game a while. Then all you had to do is run the file. Don't know if it still exists.

Yay! I'm back. Yes you were correct Panz. I needed to forward the ports. It took a person of exceptional patience and knowledge to guide my ignorant rear through the steps, but once done, I had access. Happiness is met.

So...been away forever and 3 days. I've got some weapons I need to return to Keebler, then I can continue my quest for 400 Arcane on my guys.

As for the link for the portal.dat download. They've removed that and so, you get the joy of downloading all patches when logging in. I know how excited that made me.
