Learning Spells

Post by acaddict » Thu Dec 22, 2005 10:27 am

Ok, I can't believe no one knows the easy way to learning spells from a scroll so you don't have to look for it!

All you have to do is have a wand armed and be in combat mode! Learn the spell and it pops up the spell window. Drag it over to you spell bar and set. This way you don't have to search for it. Trust me, you do NOT have to have anything else checked!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!

If you do have something else checked, this may be why it is not working!

Been doing this for 270 levels, I think I would know!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!

You HAVE to have the schools on and the level on or you cant see the spells on the list to drag to the spell bar AC. GET IT.. YOU HAVE TO HAVE THEM ON TO BE ABLE TO SEE SPELL IN LIST. If the school and level isn't on.. the spell doesnt show up on list. It's that simple. 3 people in the clan tried and told you the same thing last night. Now you want to make a fool of yourself here too. Have at it    :P

anyone have that bear trap i was talking about?

Like you knew you had more storage in your chest.. ummm lets see like you know how to save a page in your favorites.... or make a favorites file
like you know how to set anything up.. oh yeah.. the list could go on on the things you KNOW you know how to do lmao.. fool

I have no idea why this was made public.

But, in the olden days, there were no level seven scrolls -- you had to take them to the essence by the propylaeums to get the scroll, so there was no learning them by scroll.

Level sevens are the only spells you can learn without being "qualified" to learn them. All other, you have to have the school trained and your skill high enough.

T, i have a few extra traps if you need them. ;)

LoL.. that isn't the arguement Panz. AC thinks when your in combat mode with your wand out all you have to do is double click a new spell and it magically appears on his spell bar. We are tryin to tell him unless you have the school and level on the spellbook checked.. lit up.. on.. the spell doesn' t show up on your spell list to put on spell bar. It does if you have the school(life, item, critter, war) on and the level of the spell(1thru7).. then you can either double click it and it loads on spell bar.. or as he does it drag it there. He brought it public to hopefully find someone to agree with him. Even after he took it to /a last night and was proven wrong by others besides Mune and me. Ac has a magical copy of Asherons Call that does things only he can do and no one else in Asheron's Call can. I have an awesome screen shot of thought on Ac's behavior. It is priceless. When I read what was said I still ROFL. if you would like to see let me know.. hehehe

No, the spell list pops up with the new spell you just learned right there in your spell list as long as your character is in combat mode and has a wand armed. Then you place in spell bar where you want it. This has worked even before you could select different schools and level of spells.

Just try it with a spell you don't know yet and have everything unchecked. Why make things difficult? Realize, it makes no difference what is checked, your spell list will pop up with that spell in it no matter what is checked. Even if you have just life magic checked and you are learning item......it will still pop up your spell list and the new learned spell will be right there!

The newly learned spell only pops up if that particular school is checked on your spell book. If you're learning item scrolls and you DON'T want the spell to pop up, if you open your spell book and uncheck the item magic school, then close the spell book and start reading the scrolls, the spells won't pop up. I do that a lot when learning spells with my little mages because it only aggravates me when the spells keep popping up.

In all fairness, I don't know about AC's angle of being in combat mode because I never read scrolls when I'm in combat mode. I usually save up the scrolls until I have a lot of them, then stand in peace mode and read them without the screens popping up because it's a lot faster.

Ac.. the game does not show spells that are not turned on. You can keep harping on this till your blue in the face. Your wrong. I am a mage. I know what I am talking about. There is a green dot beside war, item, life and critter on your spell book as well as a green light next to the spell levels. If not you learn the spell but it doesn't pop up on your spell list cause it is not turn on. If your too ignorant to see that then keep thinking as you are. Keep proving to everyone just how stupid and ignorant you are. Did you not see the people in our clan last night that was tryin it your way and it NOT work? Are they wrong too? I don't think so. As I said.. you have a special copy of Asheron's Call that magically does things that everyone else in Asheron's Call doesn't. Drink up buddy.. maybe your wand will start talking to you too.

Ac, you are incorrect with this. If the school is check of the unlearned scroll, it will pop up, but only if the school is checked. Combat mode does not matter. I uncheck all my schools when learning new spells because it is quicker and don't have to worry about it popping up each time.

Also every time that I have learned a spell in combat mode it places you in peace mode. And AC is worng, have to have the school and level checked to have it "pop up".

Ac, i have tried it, your not correct. I have done it in peace mode and combat mode, I have had schools checked and unchecked. The checking of the school is the only thing that has effected this in anyway. I have tried it on 18 different toons just to test it.

people have tried it Ac.. if you would n't be so ignorant you would go look at your spell book and see the green light lit up.. but of course you know your right so you wont look. So believe what you want.. your just showing everyone just how stupid you really are.
