No school!!!

Post by Cymry » Fri Sep 23, 2005 9:11 pm

Due to the recent hurricanes and rising gas prices, our illustrious governor, Sonny Perdue of Georgia, has asked all school districts in the state to cancel classes Monday, Sept. 26 and Tuesday, Sept. 27 to conserve diesel fuel and energy. Two extra days off this weekend!! :biggrinflip:
You can't scare me, I teach 4-year olds!!

I'm not in any way trying to lessen the concern over the severity of Hurricane Rita. Yes, a couple extra days off from school is great anytime, and yes, it's bad that it comes under such circumstances, but I am just as concerned about those in the path of the storm and am praying for their safety. I'm sorry if what I said was taken the wrong way. I just think it's kind of cool that our governor would make such a suggestion to cope with gas and energy issues. Sorry.
