Panz@work says:

Panz@work says:
he gets to stick a cue ball up his hoohah
Oof says:
you have a doctor with a very strange sense of humor, or else he really likes a challenge at billairds
Panz@work says:
i'm not forty yet
Panz@work says:

Oof says:

Panz@work says:

Oof says:

"Sent data round like a circle then data come back to you . So you know it sent successfully."

Panz@work says:

Oof says:

Panz@work says:

Oof says:

Panz@work says:
besides, I might be looking forward to it
Panz@work says:
you never know -- maybe all the horror stories are told to keep demand down
Panz@work says:
If they said -- COME ON IN -- THESE ARE THE BEST, then all the barium ponds would be dry and then where would all the barium fish live?
Panz@work says:
it's simple economics
Panz@work says:
DUH
Oof says:
you make an excellent point. i suspect that is exactly what is happening
Panz@work says:
you should try it first
Panz@work says:
lemme know if my theory holds....ummm..barium
Panz@work says:
i'm posting this thread to the forums -- i think it's a keeper
Oof says:
umm, i'll take that under consideration, but i suspect there are older folks than you and me on the forums (yes, i'm over the barium mark but have dodges that bullet) and perhaps some of our european cousins already have first-hand knowledge of this topic and they can share with us. i don't want to do this research, i really don't!

LOL, sometimes we get bored when it's final examination days at school here Zataki, and we're waiting for our students to finish. It is rumored that conversations can sometimes take an strange detour.
Background: I had stepped out of my classroom for a couple of minutes. That timeframe turned into more than a couple of minutes when I bumped into another teacher who was making a surprise announcement in a friend's classroom that the friend would be turning 40 years old next week. The revelation about his upcoming birthday led into Panz' and my discussion about medical tests, the revelation that I apparantly can't spell billiards, etc.

That was quite funny though I'm not sure what a barium enema is. . .I have a husband over 40 . . well. . .he knows what they are given that he's a nurse. . .maybe he can explain it to me. .

/me steers well away of Florida and Panzer's and Oof's neon glowing body parts...Cymry wrote:Isn't it what they do to you just before a lower GI series to check your lower colon? The barium makes your gut glow in the X-ray or something so it will show up better. Needless to say, it's something I hope I never want done!

Panz and I DO live on the Space Coast... They used to give those poor astronauts barium enemas back in the old days as part of their physicals (or so I have read). I'm not sure exactly why though. I don't know if the doctors didn't really know exactly what they were looking for, or if the docs were mad because they weren't getting to go into space and were taking it out on the astronauts, or what.
Anyway, I'm going to say that it is Panzer's finely honed sense of history that brought up the barium enema reference upon learning that one of our fellow instructors would soon be turning 40, instead of saying that Panzer just has a skewed way of looking at life.
Although, I still think that it's a funny thread.
