I started collecting actual numbers

- ruschks: 400 (level 145), 440 (level 180), 451 (level 215)
- eaters: 370 (insatiable) and below
- viamonts: 504 (Hands) and below

For information, the highest magic defense in Caul is 400, except the VoD-imported Paradox, at 416. Almost everything in VoD is well below 400, except a few undeads, like the archfiend at 424.

Eaters have very low resistance, and take the place of Tuskers as basic mage food (no melee needed).

Same for the withered olthois, their magic defense is very low; however, they cannot be drained, so they require high melee (only the rippers).

Also, nothing is really nasty with war magic. Nothing comes close to a Biaka or even Quidiox. Even heavy casters (the new grievvers, the high mushrooms, the Naughty/Nasty Skeletons, the big mummies, the new wasps) cast 6/7 or 7/6. Conversely, melee attacks now do huge damage (puffball thrungus: 73 crit on full 7/bane 7 AL 343 base!! about twice as much as I ever got hit in Caul/VoD).

Finally, nothing has really big health, so nothing is really worth debuffing for a melee-wielder.

So basically, we're back to the good old days when the fights were about being resisted or evaded, not the recent idiotic stupid health-grinding of highly-vulnerable stuff (Colossal mite... *yawn*).

The melee hybrids took a big hit with this expansion pack. Almost nothing is worth debuffing, and the magic defense is so much higher than anything before that you have to be a true mage to debuff these. So the trick of using magic to debuff then weapons to make insane damage has disappeared, that is except if you can solo the lugian place...
