Friendship among women:
A woman doesn't come home one night. The next day
she tells her husband she slept over at a friends
house. The man calls his wife's 10 best friends. None
of them know about it.
Friendship among men:
A man doesn't come home one night. The next day he
tells his wife he slept over at a friends house. The
woman calls her husbands 10 best friends. 8 of them
say he did sleep over and 2 claim he's still there.

Lesson learnt: Men are lying bastards.
Women are honest.

Actually, it wouldn't matter if only 1 of his 10 best friends confirmed. She'd still accuse him of sleeping around and hold it against him for decades. Not years, decades. That's presuming it didn't result in divorce. In which case, the duration of punishment is still decades.
Till death do us part becomes very apparent in decrees of dissolution.
As for the woman who stayed lord know's where, the man wouldn't likely say a word if it happened only once. Just look at the poor sap marrying America's infamous "Runaway Bride". Just what da hell you think she was doing in Vegas?
Nothing over 23, that's for damn sure!!

I think she had some kind of mental problems, like manic-depressive or something. I have a family member with bipolar (manic-depressive), and that kind of thing would not be uncommon for someone with the disorder who was not medicated, or not medicated correctly, nor would spending money they didn't have, or having affairs they wouldn't normally have. Many times a life change like marriage, death, divorce, birth, etc. can cause a psychotic break which can trigger a "flight or fight" response. All I know is that all of the pictures they showed of her showed those huge, bright eyes, and forgive me for saying so, but I got the sense from looking at those eyes that she was none too stable. I do know that she has been going through psychiatric treatment. It could very well be that, if she was truly mentally unstable, no one knew anything about it until all this happened. That's just my two pyreals.
As for the man and the woman, it sounds like both of them would be in trouble. If the woman's friends didn't know about it, then where WAS she all night? At least the man's friends tried to cover for him.
