Before you can truly perceive something, it must first be named. Otherwise you will likely fail to recognize it when you see it for the first time, or the 100th time.
Take "Sun Pillars", for instance. I've probably seen a thousand plus in my lifetime, but I never recognized & appreciated one until I knew what it was called. And though I know well that I've seen many more, I remember my first one as being the one I could truly name for what it was.
