Our polydactyl (Hemingway) cat had 6 kittens today, 4 boys, 2 girls. They are all polydactyls, meaning they, like their mom, have more toes than "normal" cats. They look like they have thumbs (mitten kittens). Some are black, and some are tortoiseshell colored (kind of black and brown swirled). They are called Hemingway cats because the polydactyl gene is common in the cats at Ernest Hemingway's home in Florida. I don't think they're considered an actual breed, just a genetic mutation, but they are pretty cool.

Congratulations!
I just had my 6 month old tortie spayed so I won't be drowning in cuteness like that
However she seems to have missed the memo about not running around like a hoyden after major surgery. . .we only had a 24 hour respite from her tearing up the house

As my husband said, she can't read the post op instructions so it doesn't matter to her

Yeah, I'm gonna have to get this one spayed ASAP after the little ones are weaned. Neat, though, that all of them have the extra toes.
