AC2 is failing in comparison. People are leaving AC2 in droves. It would be fiscally unwise to drop AC, which is AC2's lifeline right now. One thing that you can rely on, is that MS generally doesn't make bad businsess decisions.

I think Panz is right. I did a quick search on ebay for AC2 accounts for sale and found about a dozen of em with no problem at all.
Yeah, I know there are a bunch of AC1 accounts on there too, but AC2 is less than 4 months old, AC1 is over 3 years. Big difference in long term customer satisfaction.
I think people are quite dissatisfied with AC2, and I don't blame them one bit. AC2 was a major let down for me.

Being a player in both worlds i can tell you this.
1> Ac1 is not going to be shutdown anytime soon in order to push ppl to AC2.
2> Ac2 had some issues since they started that are just now getting resolved.
3> Fixing said issues has made content suffer, as the 4 developers are constantly "fixing" instead of "adding".
4> The push lately is to try and encourage ppl to come from other MMORPGs to AC2. Not necessarily from AC1, but from EQ, AoE, and ALL first gen mmorpgs.
As a final Note, the issues ARE getting resolved, and content is on the way.
AC2 is a beautiful game, in a beautiful world. The content will come. AC1 was just as lacking in content when is was 6 months old too. People just have been spoiled by the HUGE amounts of content in other ORPGs, and are expecting this new world to have just as much as one that has 3 years of monthly updates.
Content will come. Players will follow.

I'm thinking about not thinking which when you think about it really makes the whole thing kind of thoughtless.
