(The kids LOVE this one--and there are hand gestures to go with it, I forget the name of the tune)

BABY BUMBLEBEE

I'm bringing home a baby bumblebee, (CUP HANDS TOGETHER)
Won't my mama be so proud of me?
I'm bringing home a baby bumblebee . . .
OUCH!! THAT BEE STUNG ME!! (SEPARATE HANDS QUICKLY)

I'm squishing up a baby bumblebee, (ONE FINGER INTO OTHER PALM)
Won't my mama be so proud of me?
I'm squishing up a baby bumblebee . . .
EWWW!! IT'S ALL ICKY!! (SPREAD HANDS AS IF ICKY)

I'm wiping off a baby bumblebee, (WIPE HANDS ON CHEST)
Won't my mama be so proud of me?
I'm wiping off a baby bumblebee . . .
YUCK!! NOW IT'S ALL OVER ME!! (INDICATE "MESS" ON SHIRT)

I'm licking off a baby bumblebee, (LICK HANDS)
Won't my mama be so proud of me?
I'm licking off a baby bumblebee . . .
Mmmm, tastes like honey! (RUB TUMMY)

(I got a million of them . . . .)
You can't scare me, I teach 4-year olds!!

Maybe that's my problem lately. I've been doing a lot of "romancing the lifestone" in the last few days.

I just had to write this post to get the number of posts on this thread to 100. I admit it, that is the one and only reason for this post. I couldn't help myself.

Did you ever notice that childrens nursery rhymes are scary?

Example:

Hush-a-bye, baby,

in the tree top.
When the wind blows,

the cradle will rock.
When the bough breaks,

the cradle will fall,
And down will come baby,

cradle and all.

What the???

Oh there are more!!!!!!!!

Yeah, but when I was a child I never thought anything about it, nor about the "violence" in Bugs Bunny cartoons. Somehow, in the back of my mind, I knew that the Coyote wouldn't really survive that fall from the clifftop in real life, and I also had enough common sense to know that if I tried it, it would kill me. I'm reminded of a literary term,"willing suspension of disbelief," which just means that though you know something in a film/cartoon/etc. can't possibly happen, you go along with it anyway as a part of the story. I just thought the cartoons were funny, and I had better sense than to try to copycat what I saw on TV.

That's my intellectual position for the day, and I'll hush now.

Then there's..........

Rock-a-bye, Sassy,

at AL Isle.
When the girl goes,

the Monkeys will wail.
When all h@ll breaks,

the armor will fall,
And down will come Sassy,

to LS and all.
