This is the hall of shame @ the zone
http://microsoftgamesinsider.com/AC1/ac ... fshame.htm
On the page before the actual list it says "UPDATED 04/08/03" So for 3 months nothing has been added, but who’s to say they are suppose to update it every mo.?
All this talk about UCM's is nuts. I would think if it’s still out of control, they would have added to the list. They would have brought it to the attention of the players again. It would have been in the “Letter to the Players†and the devs would have made posts on several forums regarding UCM’s
So many people use el tank if they’re bow or mage. If el tank is running and you chatting your fellowship with the box checked and not using /f for every tell, then you can NOT chat in “White†text to the passerby saying “Hiâ€. You have to turn el tank off, uncheck the chat to fellow box and check the “open chat†before you can chat in the white text to answer the guy saying “hi†to you. Because of that fact, I think some people will just ignore the guys saying “Hi†and just keep chatting there fellow. Many times I have been in a fellow where no one talks AND many times I have been in a fellow where people are talking non-stop. El tank is “doing the work†so we are free to talk as if we are in a chat room. When the “Letter to the Players†or “Teaser†is posted people in fellows are talking non stop, basically discussing the upcoming patch.
I myself have been next to a lifestone doing nothing but chatting friends with tells, and then I get overwhelmed with tells from several people and can’t answer them all. So I’m typing as fast as I can and only getting back to the tells and totally blowing off the guy next to me asking me in (white text) to buff him or to be his patron or what ever he said.
This very thing can happen to you when your in a fellow.
As a player (vs an Admit.) I don’t think I have anyway of knowing if some one is afk or not. They could be just ignoring my tells. With out the powers that the Admit.’s have how can anyone be sure? They (UCM’s) maybe playing you as well. They may be waiting to get tested by an Admit. So to make you look bad as some one who falsely reports UCM’s. I’m not going to “report†anyone for that reason. The fear is there, many times I have been in fellow and someone wants to report a person, and the people in the fellow say “feel free, but I’m not saying anything.†They don’t want to have anything to do with getting some one perma-banned. We all know if your playing the this game, then you like it, and how would you feel if your account was perma-banned.
Try this yourself – Go to a camped hunting place and run around and say “Hi†to each and every person. See what you get and post here with your results.

Maybe it's just me, but it seems this thread (all 7 pages worth) has gotten a little out of hand. I feel almost like i'm walking into a slum somehow by writing anything at all here, but I just hate to see these things turn personal, especially in the best damn clan on any server in this silly little game. First, you must understand that I could care less how anyone plays this game. Chain, no chain, ACM, UCM, it doesn't bother me. If LSD camps every dungeon on the game, so be it, I could care less... i'll still find something fun to do, and if i don't I'll quit playing. So, here are my thoughts
1. I have never used any combat macroes of any kind for one reason... if all i'm doing is sitting in the chair watching some program do everything for me, why play the game at all? I use macroes to make arrows, potions, buff, etc, because those actions are dull and repetitious. If hunting for experience has become dull and repetitious and thus requires a macro, why bother with this game at all, or why not try out a new hunting groun? I'm not assaulting macroers here, I really just want to know what's the point of playing if you have a macro that does everything for you?
2. This is a Massive MULTIPLAYER Online Game. If you don't care about talking to or associating with other players, why play the game? If you want to sit in a dungeon with 9 other ACMers or UCMers and not talk to anyone and watch your toon blast evertything into oblivion while you write a thesis or something, what's the point? If i ever get to the point of playing this game that I don't actually play the game, microsoft will lose my monthly contributions to the zone.
3. If not for the friends i have on this server, the great fellows we form at vod (where you know everyone is at the keyboard, palms sweaty and nerves on edge), the challenge of doing quests nekkid , the sinking feeling you get when three virindi spawn in and hit you with tuskers gifts right after you engage that obliterator, I don't think I could stand this game. If the point of my existence on this server was to stand my ground in Tusker Honeycombs, macro or not, for 10 hours and not talk to anyone, I think i'd just call it quits.
There's no real point to this post. Listed above are my personal feelings about macros in general, acm or ucm, so take it or leave it. I don't blame anyone for doing anything. I've gotten tells from people in this very clan berating me for being a "stupid lazy chainer" for absolutely no reason. If anyone has a problem with the way i play, so what... IT'S JUST A GAME!!!! If you can't have fun with it, quit. If you play soley to make other people not have fun with it, please, quit. If you are having fun, great... I could care less how you do it, and I won't report you. If you aren't having fun, come hunting with me a few times and we'll see what we can do. Anyway, just chill and not attack each other on the boards or ig.

Can we reach page 8 ?
Yes - maybe I DO want to be left alone for a while without talking to anybody. As far as I know neither the intentions of MMORPGs nor the CoCs permit that explicitely.
I have neither the template nor the installed programs to macro attended or unattended. So it would be especially hilarious to accuse me of UCMing just because I do not talk when someone else expects it. And I assume I am by no means the only one in this situation.
It is sooo cheap to say "You dont want to talk ? You are evil and want to hide UCMing".
This thread has turned into a witch-hunt even against non-macroers just to prove how righteous you are - and how cool you are because you say "hi" to everyone and their mother "in this game meant for player interaction".
Even though those accusations like the quoted are "by no means personally", I and others are attacked and accused of UCMing for stating a simple thing :
an online game gives you the possibility and opportunity to communicate with other players, but it does not force you to do so - and other players are not supposed to force you either. +Admins and other dedicated people may be the exception.
If you are talking to everyone everywhere in every situation and you think that this is the purpose of an online game - Kudos to you.
But please don't try to evangelize or mob others who might not share your opinion.
A game meant for player interaction does not mean "a game forcing players to interact".Pee-Wee wrote:-
Ok, lemme get this straight...
You wanna be alone, in a dungeon, where you can macro and not have to type at the keyboard to let anyone know you are there.... Hmmmm
Yep, sorry, gotta say it. Sometimes, I get the feeling this "I don't have to..." crap is just an excuse to get some nice UCMing in.
Why... we all know how much more easier it would be to UCM if people would just leave the ACMers alone. I mean, why else would you get so upset responding to someone in a game meant for player interaction?

Trek,
It's
easier
to
reach
page
8
if
you
stack
the
words
vertically
like
this
so
you
can
make
each
post
longer
and
take
up
more
room.
See?
This
will
get
almost
any
thread
to
page
8
or
beyond
if
everyone
would
just
cooperate
and
post
"vertically"

I wonder if the pages get longer as the threads grow? It seems like it's taking a long time to reach the next page.

Guys, it comes down to this:
We have rules in the clan. Follow them.
If you don't feel like talking, you absolutely have a right to not talk. You *might* get a tell from one of the High Council later on, or you might get a tell from the Admins - if you're at the keyboard, you'll have no problem with that.
Just know that there might be a small chain of events that comes your way for being anti social - this doesn't mean you'll get kicked out of the clan for not saying hi once. If you repeatedly ignore tells and talk (especially with High Council members), though, expect something to happen.
Just follow the rules in the clan, and you won't have anything to worry about. It's as simple as that.

I read a book saying that women are from venus, all right? So here's what you get her: Thick layers of sulfuric acid, viscous surface rock, and coronae which seem to be collapsed domes over large magma chambers. Here's $5.
