Not sure about the rest of you...but I personally try and say Hi to any fellow clan member I run into....even if I don't know you...you are square so therefore you are well worth the time it takes to type 2 little letters : HI....sometimes I'm running by...and I'm typing it as I run....so it's like a hello wave..... :D

Being anti social within a clan is not the answer..... :(

Cannot be *that* hard if she still has a credit card.

But joking aside, I hope you know what I meant...

That is exactly the point - you *try* to. But do you like to be forced to ?

Last time when I Life-Magic-less gimp was filling my Isparian Weapons decanters solo surrounded by the full spawn of that room I even did not answer my vassal and ingame wife. And I do not feel bad about it - because she understands that there are situations where even moving your eyes from the Health Bar to the chat-line can kill you.

Yeah... what Trekman said.

And Podunk, just to be fair, all of the examples you gave of "griefing" do not, in any way shape or form, detract from someone elses game play or take anything away from you by force. Stealing kills does.

Fighting/hunting in BSD/Lacuna/Honecombs/Tunnels - This is normal play.. how is this grief in any way. Not sure what you meant.

Looting in PK - This is not grief, it's an accepted and natural part of the act of being PK, a decision made by those going PK, and written code.

Being PK - It takes two to tango, and, again, it is a decision made by the person, and written code.

Doing an Olthoi Queen Quest - I havn't a clue as to what you mean, other than it releases more olthoi, which, again, is part of the game, writtin into the game. Not grief.

Plat Macro - How does this detract from your game play?. It might piss you off that someone else has more than you, or, it might screw up the economy, but, hasn't Turbine done that themselves over and over and over again?

LD-Only fellowships - Ummm unless I am mistaken, there is a "Create Fellowship" button, so I'm sure it was a written portion of the game.

Not Sharing Loot - It's irritating as hell, but it's not grief. Also, unless I am mistaken, there is an option to NOT share fellowship loot, a written portion of the game.

I don't see how replying to a Hi...with a Hi back is forced...it's called being socialable.... :P

As for not responding when on a quest in a compromising position that could cause your death.....heck NO....you are lucky to see a simple HI...I was not refering to @tells...I was referring to a regular chat...that apparently dreaded WHITE chat message simply saying Hi!.... :P

I'm talking about just general areas.....fellowships.....the common dungeons.....just running through the Dires....in town selling...etc. I do not feel forced to say Hi....and many times saying Hi to a square results in a new friend...hunting partner....etc...:)

As for those who think they feel forced to say Hi....heck...by taking a stance an refusing to say Hi to a fellow clan member is ....oh ...never mind.

I've been in situations when I'm buffing or fighting and all the stuff on my screen is going by so fast I'm lucky to see an @tell.....what I find annoying is trying to scroll back to find it thru all the attack crap and spell cast stuff so I can respond ...especially to a @tell from HC. I've got nothing to hide and certainly don't want to be targeted as a UCM because I missed an @tell.....it's much easier to respond to someone standing in front of me...

Lag, and everyone else, I apologize if my post confused things. It was a reaction to what I viewed as some very legalistic posts starting about this whole topic, and apparently I swung (swang ?) too far in the other direction.

I did not, am not, and WILL NOT, speak officially for the High Council because I'm not on it; therefore I do not have the authority to speak with any officialness on any subject except chain matters.

Now, to the matter at hand, Lagmatic wrote:
So now you can UCM in LD, as long as you're not bothering anybody?
If you're not bothering anybody, how would you ever get into trouble?

The intent of my post was not to condone violating either the game's or the clan's CoC. We all agreed to the game's CoC when we broke the seal on the software and gave our payment information. Further, we all agreed to the clan's CoC when we swore to a patron who is in LD. I recognize the fact that some people will break the rules simply because they want to. What I was trying to do was really just trying to get across the idea that if you choose to break the CoC, at least try to do it in a way that won't get you in trouble. If you choose to violate the CoC in a public manner, then don't ask surprised, or angry, when you get into trouble for it.

That's what I was trying to say when I closed the post with:
It isn't quite a don't ask, don't tell policy; it is more a don't do anything to cause other people grief and you'll be okay policy.

That's why I said, as long as you say "Hi", and don't steal kills, how is anyone going to know you are marcoing? They don't.

So why push it this far, so that it becomes a 4 page post (while 2 of them are mine.. )

Just don't steal kills, and say "Hello" a few times, then peace will guide the planets and love will stear the stars... (Come on old folks, sing it with me)

This is the dawning of the Age of Aquarius... age of a... oh ok, I'll shut up.

Broad hint : Meginjarder has a Chat Stack

And NB2 buffs you even if you close its window.
So usually I open MJ when buffing with NB2.....

Fighting is a different story though...

I read a book saying that women are from venus, all right? So here's what you get her: Thick layers of sulfuric acid, viscous surface rock, and coronae which seem to be collapsed domes over large magma chambers. Here's $5.

Trek....for those of you who are fortunate enough to get meginjarger to work...BRAVO!....99% of the time it won't connect to the server for me...I have pretty much gave up on it...the entire time it's been installed on my puter I think i've got connected 3 times....and I'm not interested in trying another third party chat.

btw....that etc....well..ummm..it could mean a nice trade....some tinkering...trade elixers.... or E T C = extra time chatting
