Unless any of us have a very very good reason besides " He used to do this, or he used to do that"...then I say we give this guy a chance....however....I would like to comment on the mcro'ing he did in the Tunnels....he played multiple characters in there and macro'd them and did not care who's toes he stepped on to get his xp's......he did deliberatly send in his melee guy to the spot I used a few times to giref me and I know he did this to many many others....that was a long time ago...I just hope he realizes UCM's are against our CoC.....and that those toes are now from the very same people he hopes to become a part of.

Give him a chance...if he truly has changed his old former ways...then there is nothing to ever discuss.....he is no different than anyone else who has joined who had griefed someone at some point along the way to fame....geeesh....I might have stepped on a few toes myself....and I'm sure not everyone looks at me as a friend...especially when I flip off at some smart a$$ for deliberately getting in my way or griefing me....lol

I do not see him on a thief list...I do not see him on a known chain breaker list....I have no idea if he is a PK and KoSL.....I'm sure if he is on a list like that our PK'ers would already be all over this post...

Rak - I remember correctly you had been kicked out of my former clan Knights Of Aerfalle (KoA) - was that before you went to Jazzi ?

I personally never witnessed you griefing (only trash talking), although back in the old days you were rather "famous" around the Dires Tusker Camps. Some of my subvassals had been direct victims.

But that has been long ago.
So if my "non-HC opinion" is asked for - I would vote for the "give a chance but watch closely" approach.

What I find a bit - hmm - strange is that you are looking for a "clan with people you can trust". I did read about that muling incident/stuff that made you leave your former clan. Whether I believe it or not is not the issue. But shouldn't trust be earned before it can be demanded ?

As of the muling - I do not think that *any* clan can proactively vouch for *all* members, especially when it is as big as LD. And especially when a controversial topic like ground-muling is concerned. We can react after an incident, but we cannot prevent it.

So if you want to join (and are approved) you can be member of the biggest and one of the most persistant and positively well-known clans on SC. But IMHO that does *not* mean a guarantee that you can drop your stuff on the ground in a public area without the possibility of problems.

To be completely honest, I've heard nothing but good about him for a long time. He told me once, about a year ago, that he was going to reform his ways, and just to wait and see. I never thought I'd be here saying this, but I really think he has. Not a bad thing to be found.

If he comes into LD, what's the worst that can happen? He does something stupid and gets booted. I say to let him in and he can show us what he's got.

When I restarted AC just over a year ago, my roommate and I spent a goodly amount of time powerleveling our characters at the South Dires Tusker camps with the help of a mage friend of mine who no longer plays. It was there that we often met RakWar, who was leveling his character Fanatic. Our mage friend would often talk with Rak and we would negotiate how much time he or we had on buffs or in our playing session, etc. We never had a problem with him. When we hit 50, he was glad to fellow with us on any occasion.

Other people didn't have similar experiences with him. I would characterize RakWar as someone who believes that monsters in AC are more or less a free-market economy. If you want to compete, fine, he'll compete. If you want to share, you'd better be able to bring something to the table for him. He's not one to quickly give handouts, though he is generous and friendly to those he trusts.

Most, if not all "problems" I saw during that period were from incidents where people came into the situation either unwilling to cooperate, or unable to contribute. He would react exactly as they acted: unwilling to cooperate, and unable to give a free ride.

And that time period, actually, was before he "gave up his griefing ways" and joined Lrd Jazz. Considering the obvious lack of any complaints about him in the many months since then, I would have full confidence that he is no more a "danger" than anyone else that gets into this clan on a daily basis.

The difference between RakWar and them is that few of them come here and post for approval from clan management, and you're also guaranteed that he's not going to stand around the mansion begging for armor and sucking buffs from the bots without ever paying. :)

I don't know how much my opinion counts, as I'm relatively new to this clan, but you can consider this as a "positive reference" from me.
