Yeah, it's a little frustrating. I was being evaded yesterday by, of all things, a SCLAVUS!!!!! Dang, that sucked. And yes, I had more evades in VoD last night. But then, I too always try to hunt there with a mage. I've never been really concerned about XP so I really don't notice any difference. I am a little frustrated by the fact that I do seem to be have to be A LOT closer to things to hit them, but then, AH WELL, we have had it quite good for some time. And I still had fun, so, like Sassy, it's not a huge deal.

Oh, and Panzer, I too have always feared for my life, esp before I got Melee D. I won't tell you how many deaths I actually have but for most of you who have hunted with me, you'll probably notice most of those are because I tend to threw myself into the thick of things and forget to heal. ROFL. Oh well, all part of the fun. And gives me a chance to burden others with my multitude of death items I drop :scatter:

i don't like the patch, i feel like i'm being punished for being level 126... The only things that are actually above 126 are death valley stuff... I lose xp on everything else, sigh.

Yep.. I remember when they changed the drain spell which was the only thing that let me stay alive back then. At that point, I felt like quitting too. Glad I didn't though. I re-evaluated, changed a few things and now the games a blast!

Turbine always seems to do over kill when they make a nerfing change and then they balance it out later like with drains. So I wouldn't give up yet.

Lorno,

I am also resisting a whole lot more since the patch. It's kinda' funny, but before, I was RARELY resisting... Right after the patch, I actually cought myself going "What is THAT sound", I kept hearing the sound it makes when you resist a spell. I had to laugh at that one.

I was honestly on my way to unspec'ing it, because it never seemed to help me out. My Magic Def is pretty high for a melee, yet I was always getting nailed by whirling blade III or constantly impe/vulned. It was quite irritating to go get fully buffed and put on my Gaerlans Magic Def necklace, only to get imped by an undead miner in the sub.

I think there was a lot of balancing going on in this patch. I'm sure glad to see some of it. As for hitting things, I still say try changing your hunting habits, there are SEVERAL different types of monsters out there. Melee people know more than anyone, that there are some monsters that are made for Mages to kill (High Lev Virindi). I think we just have to experiment on different monsters now and get into new habits of killing.

I think it's sort of fun. It's like a little breath of fresh air to have to run out and find out what is easier/harder now, and what will spread your butt over Dereth like a fine marmalade on toast.

BUT!! I think the funniest thing about the patch is this. All those Glacial Golems that cause such irritating scenes in Qualbar, are now like 50 times harder to kill. SOOooooo maybe we won't have to deal with all the campers and their irritating bitching matches.

Oh, and lets not forget...

All those things that are so much harder to kill now... also bring more XP. So, it's more balanced than you think.

I've also noticed that some of those things are not hitting as much as before, but some are.

Diamond Golems are not hitting me for squat now, but LUGIANS... they bite my butt with extreme prejudice since the patch.

So lemme see if I understand this. If you hunt anything under your level then you get XP punished. you get less XP then if it was higher level then you. Personally I will still keep playing but I still think this patch sucks. I enjoyed being able to kill almost everything except VOD those damn shadows are evil. HMM. nothign else to talk about and I knew you wouldn't complain litl you never do. :)

Gesen <---- Dislikes turbine now. :)

Trust me, I dint have any problems getting killed before this patch. 197 deaths. I got killed three times last night in 30 min. I can adjust to that but not being able to land a shot consistantly at my level is jsut plain sick.
