Whenever I or anyone posts on boards that US people

Post by thenetworkgod » Sat Aug 13, 2005 9:45 pm

frequent, about 9/11 and remembering it, it seems there is a small group of people that remember with a passion, a LARGE group that has forgot or wants to, and a small group that does not even know WHAT 9/11 is.

My question to you dear LD'ers is, do you remember? Do you remind yourself? Your kids?

Or do you just wanna forget it and put it behind you? (ignorance is bliss)

?

I ask cause I am curious to know, not to start an argument.

yes i remember it. We must not forget it cause then it will be happen again. Needs to be revisited very often to remind everyone why we are in a war with worldwide radical terrorists.

I don't know how any American (excluding Alzheimer's and other mental disorders) would not remember it as we are reminded of it several hundred times a day

Same here. I remember it off and on all the time, especially when it gets close to the anniversary. I remember where I was, at Pre-K. I remember it didn't become really real to me until I came home that day and saw it on TV. I remember calling my husband from school to tell him and he didn't believe me until he turned on FOX News. I remember him going to pick up our older son early along with many other parents, and that many of our Pre-K'ers were picked up early that day. I remember staying home that Friday and seeing the Changing of the Guard in London when they played our national anthem instead of "God Save the Queen." I remember having a very subdued feeling for months afterward that I now realize was my first experience with depression. The feelings I had then, even seeing the file footage, are not as strong because I've had time to process it, but I will never forget. I imagine it's the same for many people who witnessed Pearl Harbor or JFK's assassination. Some feel more strongly than others, but you never forget.

As an aside, we are having our fall revival at church beginning Sunday, September 11.
You can't scare me, I teach 4-year olds!!

I remember.....

Yes I remember 9/11 I watched it live on CNN....

I am NOT American but like all north American's I was horrified as I watched the events unfold. I was unemployed and sleeping in from a busy night of AC when my friend/former ac patron phoned me (he works at National Defense HQ here in Canada) and all he said to me with a sense of urgency is "turn on CNN."

I did so, to watch the second plane crash into the tower live! I watched trying to get my head around the event as the towers collapsed on themselves.

I feel for my American brothers then and still do. I felt for the emergency workers; the police the firefighters and ambulance crews as they struggled to cope, i feel for all those who perished.

I also realise that this event may not be the last but only vigilence will keep us all safe, we cant relax until this threat is eliminated.

I was also appalled by the callous naming of toons after the said un-named "bin ladin" as jokes....

will we forget?, should we forget?, i know i wont and not during this life time

but i think we should leave this forum for more happier game related items, but remember on sept 11 with appropriate posting here...on its anniversary...

happy trails all
