Okay, sure, I wasn't being Mr. Nice Guy, but I couldn't resist; concerted effort at mitigating natural selection among our species and advancing society according to the pace of the lowest common denominator is so very, very backward. Anyone so arrogant as to truly believe that they live at the top of the food chain is proof enough of that. I'll tell you, we'll pay for it someday!

FYI altruism is not inborn excepting in very few species. Humans aren't among them. Curiously enough however, it IS in Vampire Bats. I find the irony of that fact to be utterly delicious.
