The dust has somewhat settled, and standards are starting to emerge again.
Time for a new Priceguide !
I have bundled my views on the trading activities on Solclaim. Use them as you wish, considering they are only my views.
As always, *intelligent* opinions, fact-based price examples and extentions of this list are welcomed. Please refrain from remarks like 'Are you crazy ? Item XXX does not go for price YYY !' . If you do, please use arguments.
DISCLAIMERS :
* This is a guideline. I *know* you can make better sales/buys than this. This list is only meant as a guideline, and an average indication of prices.
* Prices are based on following the auctions on the VN boards. I know this is a sort of biased view of prices ingame, but it is a guideline.
* It is a fact that you will get more buyers interested by adding 'lower currency'. This means that you are less likely to get bids if you only accept steel. Adding sing keys will raise your number of potential buyers, and adding plats/m-notes will rocket that number.
If you accept plats/m-notes as payment, you can expect your selling-price to be an average of 1/3 higher.
* There will be some items missing. Feel free to add your own price indication.
* Many thanks to Faile's for his Economy Report that inspired me to do this (http://www.solclaim.org/economy) and for his Bandit Sight.
* Also check out the great auction site http://www.eb-ac.com. This is a great tool for sellers and buyers alike. I'm also hearing rumors about an ingame plugin that works together with the site.
* I will put price-ranges for items. This means that these items have been sold/auctioned for as low as the first price or as high as the second price.
* I have severely cut down on items followed. Mostly because they are not being traded for the moment.
For reference, you can find my previous guide here : http://vnboards.ign.com/message.asp?topic=42884710
SOME OPINIONS :
* The small as a currency has been wiped out. I'm regretting this, but it is a fact. Maybe future developments will up the value of the small again, but I'm afraid it will never be used again as a currency.
If there is one lesson to be learnt here, it is to spread your wealth - don't put everything in one trade commodity.
* New standard currency *starts* to look like this :
Sing key : 5/6
M-note : 1
Plat : 0.5
* Majors are the hot items. Everybody wants them, nobody wants to sell them.
As long as the standard currency is not fixed, people only want to trade majors for majors. I am convinced this will NEVER work. We need to start trusting the currency - but this will take time.
* Trading has gone down considerably. Lots of items that used to be traded, are now nowhere to be seen. If you want to stock up, I'm suggesting you save the following : sings, plats, m-notes (duh), steel, iron, sunstone, black opal, mahogany (all 5 or 6+), cottage/villa, pack dolls.
POINT SYSTEM :
I'm putting down prices in points, where 1 point would be an M-note or 2 plats.
ITEMS and their prices :
Sing key : 5
M-note : 1
Plat : 0.5
opal : 6
sunstone : 20/30
black opal : 15/30
fire opal : 5
iron : 5/7.5
steel : 15/20
granite : 55/85
mahogany : 30/36
marble 35/50
10 units of grade 10 mahog : 45/55
cottage : 35
villa : 500
Pack dolls :
tusker : 60/200
griever : 36/75
olthoi : 200
idol : 230
ursuin : 150
virindi : 65
lugian : 100
cow : 200
writ : 6
Critical Strike wand/orb work 5 or less and MC 8% 1 tink : 75/85
Weapons
Max damage or near max damage, untinkered, work 5 or lower : 20/40
If these are imbued with AR/CS, expect the value to go up above 100.
Bow/X-bow, unarmed and sword seem to be the most popular.
Majors
Most majors are sold for around 200 points.
Any of the following qualities will raise the value :
* armor on head/feet/hands
* bow-majors (i.e. coordination, bow, xbow)
* mage-majors (i.e. will, focus, war, life)
* arcane only requirement
* major invulnerability
So if you find that elusive major invulnerability, arcane only, al 200+ gauntlets, let me know

I'll leave it at that.
Feel free to add comments and other values.
