Even funnier, to me anyway, is that this story comes from Arkansas, my birthplace. I can hear the conversation now:

"Jethro, the dog done ate the chickens again! I done told you to keep a leash on that dang ole mutt!"

"Sorry granny, it won't happen again!"

"Yer dern right it won't happen again. Now eat yer steak boy!"

BTW, no one else dog on Arkansas or i'll have to taunt you ig, unless you grew up there like i did.
